For all of those concerned, I was a student of Shree Adarsha higher secondary school, the situation has changed now, a suspension bridge has been made due to pressure on government from all sides, the school has got its own school bus so students need not hitchhike anymore, and Ajit has already passed SLC exam( grade 10 in Nepal). PS: I am thankful to my friend who recommended me this video.

I am usually a silent KZbin watcher and rarely comment on any videos. I always come back to this video, when I need a motivation to push myself and every time I see this documentary, tears roll down my eyes. Currently I am commenting in this video from a lab at a prestigious university in Canada, as I am working on my data analysis on one screen and watching this video on my second screen. As a Nepali watching this video, I feel terrible for my fellow juniors, Ajit and his friends and I am so sorry that you guys had to go through this adversity daily just for the hope of bright future. It leaves me questioning, "Why is life so unfair for some of us?". Yet, we as a Nepali have this perspective towards life to win adversity with optimism. This also motivates me, reminding me that the life I have now might be someone else's dream and this pushes me to be grateful for what I have. To all the young men and women, don't lose hope and trust me as it's the only thing that's worth clinging to. May you one day reach where you want to be.

I was very glad to read the comment by a person who attended the school in this documentary, that he was letting us know that it's now much safer to get to school, with a suspension bridge and a school bus. This is not only safer for the students, but also the farmers and anyone else who needs to cross at this spot. While it's still a concern for their parents, I'm sure, at least they now have less to worry about as their precious children travel back and forth for their highly valued education.

Documentaries like this can raise awareness, bring attention to the hardships people in remote areas face every day. After getting an international audience, help is likely to make its way there. These kids are amazing. Their determination, maturity, kindness, teamwork, hardwork and perseverance to get to school on time, despite the many obstacles, is commendable! Only for them to get to school and be physically punished by their so called teachers, is despicable and heartbreaking. They shouldn't be punishing the kids, they should be proud that the kids made it to school, safely. What kind of teacher says "they (the kids) don't stand a chance"!? What a horrible thing to say! You must be a HOPELESS teacher! Why did you even become a teacher? Anyway, I wish all the best for all the wonderful children and their families. May their hopes and dreams be fulfilled.

The teachers at the school are being discriminatory against these children. Instead of encouraging and helping them to succeed knowing all that they must overcome just to get to school. The one child even said that the teacher yells at him even hits him when he's late. That's horrible. The school and teachers should be ashamed for not doing more to help these children.
@beccaminkin83994 жыл бұрын
This has ZERO to do with "discrimination". You could have easily written "unfair". But you choose "discriminatory against these children."
@caringabouttomorrow31574 жыл бұрын
That's because it's discrimination. Discrimination means the UNJUST or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people or things. Don't be afraid to call something what it is. Pretending that discrimination doesn't exist is not going to make it go away. When you see it call it out people need to stop it. If using the word Discrimination or Discriminatory makes you feel uncomfortable then you should explore that with some introspection and education so that you can overcome it.

It’s because they don’t care about where you live, also how long it takes you to get in school. Most of the time, kids are naughty and that’s probably one of the reasons why they hit student (even I used to get hit, but not much since I was a good student. I used to live in nepal) I remember walking for more then 30 minutes to get to school and then study. It was hard to pay attention sometimes because I just wanted to rest and sleep but I couldn’t because it’s school. The most thing I hated was how early we wake up like 6am everyday, I mean we do go to bed early (we are asleep by 8pm) I also hated how we had to go to school 6 days out of 7 weeks, the worst thing was that we couldn’t just rest at the weekend. We had house chores we needed to do. It was quite tiring, now I’m not used to that anymore I think I’ll pass out if I do that every literally

Out of all the episodes in this series, this is the first one where the teacher has no empathy with and no sympathy for the children. She´s blaming THEM for being bottom of the class. For me, this is the worst part - not so much the physical pain (and danger) of using the tuin, but the lack of any kindness from the teacher. They go to an extraordinary length to get to school - only to find that the people they look up to (teachers) have no interest in them. Absolute shame.

I have 100% admiration for these people. They are filled with ambitious dreams. Much like me as a child. People in the western world are spoiled and very few take advantage of their blessings. God bless the children of Nepal .... .... .....

This little girl getting her spit bath is just the sweetest little girl. She is so precious. I'm amazed these parents are so driven about their kids getting an education.

It was indeed devastating. Good to hear that something was done. I wish success to Ajit and his friends. They are very determined souls.

My heart breaks in million pieces just watching this documentary. This is so raw and deep. So much Struggle and determination. This is the level up real action not even close to those fake action movies produced from Hollywood.
