The video was very informative. Thank you. One helpful tip would be to manually put the gear selector in neutral to obtain more space between the selector and the climate controls for better access to the gear selector button.

I actually pulled the gear stick to Drive and then switched the engine off by pressing the ignition start/off button twice so had much more room. Then after fixing I just moved the gear stick to Park,and the started the car. So simple.

If you see this, please add the English subtitle "Changing the spring on the Freelander 2 gear selector" The amount of hit's you'd generate with this great video. The sheer amount of British owner who change the entire gear knob because this simple spring broke is staggering. It's harder to change the knob than the spring!

@@novacalucas You would be better to change the whole title of the video to: Freelander 2 gear knob spring replacement/troca da mola do botão do câmbio. Your video is the best one on this subject but the subtitle is not shown during a search - I only found it by searching on Quant and not Google and then just clicked on it to check. However, I don't know if changing the title would delete your views and comments though. Best check before doing anything like that :) Thanks for a great vid - fixed the knob in a couple of minutes.

From 0.03 to 0.09 what happen? How do ypu remove the cover ? this is also important.👎

Sorry for the late answer. You just have to detach it from the botton part of the knob.
