Wow was considering the Tobii until I heard about this. Looks good!

It certainly is an alternative and works quite well for me. Still using it. :)

Looks like the arducam tof camera. Even the specs match. Pretty good idea as that kind of sensor will give you depth data

I have a fullscale F16 cockpit, love this system but the clip is to big, what I need is a tiny system
@WatchMysh11 ай бұрын
You could maybe 3d print a new casing? The clip is only like 5cm wide and 4cm tall though. The LEDs and the camera have to fit somehow.

Wow, that is very impressive. This might be the thing that replaces my TrackIR.
@WatchMysh Жыл бұрын
Yeah works quite well for me. :) But as I said I'd really love to compare them. Pity I don't have a TrackIR. And I guess they don't send out review samples since everyone already is aware of the product.

not when its only 20 dollars cheaper than a trackIR 5. $133 USD is a bit steep
@WatchMysh Жыл бұрын
@@sirbum69 Where I live it's a 60€ difference to the TrackIR 5.
@karlhungus545 Жыл бұрын
@sirbum69 Here in Canada this is less than half the cost of a TrackIR with the clip, and it isn't as cheaply made and flimsy as TrackIR.

I just bought the Kodiak set for MSFS during the recent Black Friday sale. I knew you were smart. Still can't land in a 30kn wind fully loaded in Alaska though. Practice, practice, practice. Now let's go see how much this will cost. Cheers.
@WatchMysh Жыл бұрын
I Totally suck with the Kodiak but I still love it. Just don't have enough time to really fly and enjoy the planes I have with all that real life stuff going on like having a job and doing all those hardware reviews recently. But starting from January, I will probably have more time to actually do what I have all this hardware sitting around for. Lol.

I wonder if they've improved how they assemble the unit. Every single 3d printed product from trackhat has cracked in the joints between glued parts for me. Looks like really rough finishing on it as well, so I would be surprised if they did.
@WatchMysh2 ай бұрын
@@kiiroMADE Still looks rough, yes. Mine is still going strong, though. No cracks so far. Fingers crossed.
@kiiroMADE2 ай бұрын
@@WatchMysh Yeah, they start out fine but then after some months or a year or two the parts starts to come apart because the glue is not holding as good anymore. But who knows, perhaps they've sorted that out but I doubt it. I have two IR lights from them, both the cabled version and the one with a battery (not sold anymore). The wired one had the cable not make a good connection anymore + cracking at glued surfaces. They use super thin wires and bending the cable after months and years of use = failure. I still use the battery unit but it's starting to crack real bad at glued surfaces.

How does it compare to a webcam with opentrack+AI track? It seems pretty similar to me
@WatchMysh Жыл бұрын
Works better and more reliable in my case. I tried tracking with an S20FE as a webcam and also compared it to smoothtrack. Another advantage is that it doesn't care about the lighting conditions. But your mileage may vary.

Did you mention the price?
@WatchMysh6 ай бұрын
@@antjones2281 I think I did... It's cheaper than TrackIR and Tobii for example. It's around 120€ iirc.
