As we now enter these uncharted waters, quite beyond our previous experiences, we are uncertain of our future but we're excited for the possibilities of the next couple of years. Taking a risk is always a little nerve wracking but this is exactly how Free Range Sailing started all those years ago. As always thank you for commenting, liking, subscribing and watching our channel. We look forward to you joining us for the next chapter of our lives. Troy and Pascale

I'm absolutely with you on your new adventure - it looks like a lot of hard work and fun and I can't wait to see how you transform your new home! How many acres are you "caretaking"? It would be interesting for all of us non-Aussies if you could explain what caretaking entails. I'm assuming that you don't "own" the land but is there any form of guarantee of tenure? New channel name: Free Range Living!

Troy: "I'm sure you'll be able to find [a replacement sailing channel] pretty easily..." Don't be so sure about that. The two of you have set a VERY high bar to clear! Besides which, all the channels that even come close to touching your level, I'm already subscribed to. But of them all, FRS has always been the best. I'll be sticking with you anyway, as I'm sure your lives will continue to be an interesting, entertaining, and educational adventure. Fair winds and many, many, heartfelt thanks to you both!

Dear Troy and Pascal, you were the first sailing channel I found and the only one I patronised - I've loved vicariously sailing with you, the integrity with which you both do everything and the standard of respect for nature and seamanship you set for yourselves. We have learnt so much about many aspects of living, not just the sailing, slef-feeding, repairing ..... well everything. I'm happiest of all that you plans are to continue together and watching you grow together has been an example to be envious of. - hope that might mean a new generation will be in the offing. With the snowfall in Montreal we received a couple of days ago has now melted, I wish you all the very best for your future together, John May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Troy, One thing you fail to understand is that not only are you two amazing sailors, but you’re amazing naturalists, as well. My favorite parts were where you free dived and told us the names of all the fish we saw when we tagged along with you. Plus, I’ve said this before, Troy you are a natural teacher. It doesn’t matter if you learned the thing you are teaching us five minutes before, your patience and thoroughness of your explanations are amazing. I’m sure you’ll continue on with that in the new direction of the show. But I learned so much about sailing and fishing from you guys. Thanks so much for all these videos. And I’ll stick around to see what amazing things Pascal can whip up when she has a whole garden and not just sprouts:) Thanks again for the memories. Matt

When I started following you several years ago it wasn't just the sailing that interested me. After all, how many sailing channels just hack around the same Caribbean islands?! You were different not just geographically but your passion to discover all the wonderful places and aboriginal culture that you feature was obvious. These are things that I would never have known about from my side of the planet without your channel. Moving into a completely new challenge will be a discovery for you and for us so don't count on your loyal subscribers dropping you. We're in it for the long run! Thanks for all the discoveries of Australia so far and looking forward to more in the future

After 44 years of sailing, my wife and I have sold our DeFever 49' CPMY and taken a new direction, I think I understand your situation. Stopping boating is not the end of life althoough it was difficult to do. Interestingly we are not hanging on to the old memories vicariously through others. So your timing is right for us. We will continue wathing becuse I basically don't think you will change, only the things you do and talk about. Life is about dreams and making them happen. Good luck from Memphis, TN in the USA where we boated on the Mississippi River, Gulf of Mexico and the TN Tom Waterway from, Mobile, AL to Iuka, MS. Take care and may God be with you. You were my favorite sailing channel; not just for the boat and the sailing, but how your two dealt with situations. I follow homesteading videos. but being a homesteader and wishing to be a sailor, it's something I will follow, but not as avidly. Adventure aside, I applaud your Eco-awareness. Going to land or buying a bigger boat, usually means starting a family. Not saying you should, but if you do, I hope you produce at least 50,000 Eco-conscious kids to save WA. Happy trails.

A new sailing channel every week, there is, however you two have made watching a sailing channel as if we were watching family. To say that you both are top of the heap, is the understatement of KZbin. Your new venture will be exciting to follow and I for one will be there to watch, if you will allow us. You’ve always done things in an instructional way, with kindness and care and you’ve treated those of us who follow you as if we truly were important to you, unlike most others. First, thank you for all of the interesting, exciting, and informative filming of your sailing adventures in the past! Secondly, congratulations on your new venture. I will be missing the sailing and all that goes with that, but I will be sticking around to watch the new chapter in your lives. I am a Kiwi, but my daughter has lived in the South West of WA (Manjimup and Busso) for the past 13 or so years, and I have flown over 3 or 4 times to stay with her and her young family. I have come to love the area, and feel a bit sad at the moment because they are in the midst of emigrating to QLD for work reasons. So you will maintain a link for me to the SW - your property looks so typical of the area! I hope you have marron in the dam (if not, why not?!), and hope you can grow avocado and the other wonderful fruits suited to that area. How about a truffle plantation? The Truffle Kerfuffle is a wonderful event, as well as the Cherry Festival at Manji. Lots of lovely breweries, wineries, and cafes to get to know in the area as well. Have a wonderful time on your new adventure!
