I love the fact that you kept the footage of fixing the drill press in this. It's very humanizing, and for all that I LOVED the entire thing (as I do every single one of your videos!!), that was extremely charming and funny to me. Also, this might be my single favorite sword you've ever made! Stunning!!

Awesome video as always. The introductions and the soundtrack to the introductions are excellent additions. Thank you for proving how well this sword holds up against mild sheet steel. Romans in the 2nd century pretty much dominated, so obviously this sword did well. How would it hold up to one of your Damascus blades, or an ancient (or modern) master Japanese blade? Did the minimal hilt result in the loss of a hand, or did the tactics of this relatively short sword mitigate the risk? The slight widening of the blade near the tip is a beautiful touch; I expect it adds a touch more momentum on the slash.

'When I pulled my sword, it sang, it cried for its new scabbard to be the chest of the barbarian hordes opposed to me. It sang to beg that it be set free to cleave the limbs off my enemies. It sang that it was forever thirsty and to slake it's forever thirst, it must be quenched with the blood of my enemies. The blade wailed and wished to bring death. We are legion. It turned out well. But I find it hard to imagine that 2,000 years ago, when high-quality steel was very valuable, blacksmiths could afford to forge a billet twice as thick as needed, only to have half the metal scraped off on a whetstone. But in the modern version, it is a good reproduction, as I said.

The hilt of the Roman sword is short so that the hand is tightly fixed between the guard and the pommel. this makes it possible to precisely control the sword. The hilt of this sword does not fix the hand. a beautiful, but not historical product.
