and another note i would like to add.... i admire how you are willing to start completely over on anything that didnt come out "right". As oppose to being like "Well it ALMOST fits....maybe after i add a shim and some filler it will fit better" lol no sir if it doesnt fit, in your mind the only option is to completely redue it so it fits how its meant to fit. That takes patience. especially once you consider the amount of hours it takes to do each step. sorry for the long comments, im just very impressed (and in love i think) with this knife. im obviously a knife enthusiast as well with a very large collection and a very amateur beginner knife maker as well. and with all the knives ive seen and all the books and articles ive read on knife crafting, it really takes alot to impress me with a knife (not to sound arrogant, but once you seen them all theres seldom anything "new". so.....good job, good work, and good shit.

First off awesome work! That said, some tips and information from a Mechanical Engineer: 1. Heat treating is quite easy, and a 1hour read will teach you everything there is to know about annealing, tempering, heat treating and quenching. Its not rocket science. 2. You should look into case-hardening and induction heat treating. Case hardening is very useful and if your weapons were ever put to hard use, it would serve as your best option. It is a process that hardens the outside material while leaving the inside ductile. 3. When tapping threads on your tangs, you should back out every 1/2 to full turn. You need to allow the tapping bit to expel the machined metal. Keep the bit highly lubricated and take your time threading and then backing out, and your bits will last a lot longer. Not to mention, the threads will be cleaner with a better cut and finish. Great work again! Your work is very beautiful

I have loved your channel for years. Your work is pure art. One of the great things about your videos is that it's just you talking and the sounds of the work. If someone told you to add the music in the background you were poorly counseled. It takes away from the intimacy of the feeling we get of being in your shop with you. Another masterpiece! If you want to try another tool for those lines without relying on a rotating knife, look into "gunpla panel line chisels". Mecha model kit builders sometimes customize it by adding panel lines. But they are very small square tip chisels meant to be dragged along the material to slowly create a groove. Granted those tools are designed for styrene or resin so I am not sure how it would behave in carbon fiber. But they arent expensive tools if you wanted to experiment.

18:40: although a fingerprint of the knifemaker might also be a cool feature. Imagine having the fingerprint of Masamune, the medieval japanese swordsmith on one of his swords. 28:50: Would it have saved time (and risk of destroying something) to not dovetail the channels for the gold inlay all the way but just make a carving/dovetail every 1 centimeter or so? Also, would sanding the sides on the surface edge of the carvings for the gold inlays have gotten the lines even straighter? The lines are a tiny bit frayed. Sorry, don't want to ask stupid or brazen questions. This is such a beautiful knife. Thank you for sharing this process. Absolutely impressive.
