hand toss test of my new Rockeye (SUU-30B) powder bomb for my Freewing twin 80mm A-10. This bomb has much more volume than the Mk82 I tried earlier. looks like I need to try this from a higher height!

Some years ago I was playing with designs for a model bomb for a 1/4 scale Wellington. I came up with, but didn't build a test version of, one in which on hitting the ground a CO2 cartridge for a soda-syphon, would allow the cannister to slide down an internal perforated tube, to hit a static "firing-pin" to puncture the CO2 cartridge, ejecting a load of dust/powder paint from the bomb. A sewing-needle attached by a string to the model, through the bomb would prevent the cartridge from puncturing when still attached to the model, which would be withdrawn as the model bomb fell away. I suspect it might not be safe to drop owing to the weight, but if smaller, lighter CO2 cartridges could be found, it might be viable?
