Just picked up one of these over here in Florida and the first thing I did was reinforce with carbon rods. Which was a good thing because the first thing I should have done was read the part where you can turn off the "wiggle butt" until you get used to vectored thrust. Lesson learned. After I got the feel of the standard flight characteristics, The wiggle butt was a blast. Much better than the crash. The only thing it doesn't do better than the multi billion dollar one is VTOL, although my first crash was very vertical. This young man seems to have it down pat. Nice flight and as always, nice keeping up with the camera. Thank you for posting and God Bless, Paul.

I have this F35 and I see by the pictures that you have done some repairs to the gear already. They tend to get hammered on the take off roll so now I hand launch and land with the gear. I have had no more problems. Nice flying she is a great airframe. :)

Yup.. EPS foam and no ply or plastic for the retracts to really bite into. Hot glue seems to have fixed it a bit.

Hehe.. I just upgraded it to a Change Sun XRP10.. sounds very cool and is pulling 1150 watts at 1.4kg. Should be a bit faster now.

how long is flyign time with that small battery? and upgrading to a CS10 should limit the flying time even more. AND did you do any balance work on the stock fan unit?

Not long.. 3minutes, depending on throttle. With this plane, I'd rather a few minutes of decent performance and sound than 5 minutes of high pitched whine. If the CS doen't work out, I've a few other options.

Outstanding flight skills for this model....Can you share what your control throws are set at (percentages) and the amount of expo you have dialed in? I have this model, and mine is very pitchy - it looks like a dolphin if you don't focus on super small stick inputs on the elevator (with the vectoring turned off) Thanks, and again, great flying....David

Poker2145 Thanks! I'll check my radio later for control settings. Not with it at the mo. If it's pitch sensitive, it may be a tad tail heavy. This isn't far from a swept wing delta, so CoG is critical. I'm confused by their decision to limit battery size to 2200mah. Nose weight from more mah would have helped this plane.

Yep, and the battery compartment, you are very limited on the battery position, unless you cut out the plastic compartment, and carve the foam.. For my last flight, I did dial my elevator controls down to 35% (with 60% expo), and that really helped reduce the pitch issues, but you still have to focus on small inputs.

I have a jet similar to that then I'm trying to repair on the back tail rudders whatever they are called they are attached by some type of hinge not to cleavets it's like some type of wire snapped anybody know what they are called and how to repair them its some type of little hinge that looks like a wire?

Hi Pete, just wondering if psyhosix has any videos of setting the F-35 up? I have just bought a Sebart Mig 29 fulcrum edf 3d v2. As for the programming it looks like a bloody nightmare. Cant find anything on KZbin about setting the jet up, just the instructions in the manual. The vectored thrust looks amazing when its set up right.

Yup! For sale in a box, not so much. People have done it using 3 or 6 axis gyros and modified thrust tubes that swivel round like an F-35. I've seen one with extra thrust tubes mid fuselage to keep it stable.. really cool.
