Thanks for posting this video! It really helps people know what to expect on the French Broad in Asheville. A great resource to share with my friends. Bent Creek - Hominy Creek - Three Bridges

I would love to do something like that , it would be hard to not fish though lol , it started I was saying where's the Hobie at . But I guess with that current you don't need a Hobie lol

Nice. I filtered a couple bottles of water right around that rest stop. For our trip, that place was an excellent reprieve on the way. It did have two metal picnic style tables a bit off the beach part into the water where you could sit and eat with your feet in the water. I didn’t see them in the video but that would have been a nice treat.
@MonkeyNAround
@MonkeyNAround 5 жыл бұрын
According to one of the locals they took those up due to recent flooding in the area. He was telling us about them where we can sit and feast in the river.

When I went on a tour of the Biltmore I saw part of the French Broad River. The current was moving at a pretty good clip, it's probably shallow there in that section of the river. I've paddled the New River with Zulu Canoe 🛶 outfitters , nice river to paddle the water was clear and you could see 10 ft or so down in the deep spots

I enjoyed the video! I was scheduled to make the drive up from NE Alabama for this float, but all of my buddies were busy, the wife had a bridal shower to attend and i had a thoroughly awful week at work, so a 4 hour drive, 11 mile paddle and another 4 hour drive home, solo, would’ve been too much for this ole’ boy. I hope to get to come up and hook up with you guys on some trips this summer. You may have to tag along with Shane and go on a trip with the Bite Me Expeditions and try out some of Poe’s world class river cuisine! He says that he wants to try a Camp Sammich!

Looks like a relaxing ride down river. I’ve been thinking about kayaking around the NOC in North Carolina. Have you ever kayak around that restaurant Rivers End at the NOC? Looks pretty awesome. Cool video 👍 that ending 😂
@myadventureoutdoors
@myadventureoutdoors 5 жыл бұрын
I have not kayaked around the NOC but I have tubed and rafted. If the water level is up, shouldn't be a problem I would think. If you come down, you should also take a trip on the Smokey Mountain Railway out of Bryson City.

White duck, man. White duck. LOL. Shane should not have told the story about hitting his head on the cabin. He should’ve said that he rolled over in his kayak and hit his head on a rock while he was turned upside down. This look like an awesome trip. I just watched Shane‘s video on Tagayak.

Steve, you all should have beached the yaks and stormed the castle on the hill viking style. You could've led the charge. You're almost full blooded viking, aren't you? Instead, you all beach the yaks and storm the snack shack? 🤣😂🙃🍗🥣🥓🥩 What exactly is white luck Steve? I've never experienced any of that. I have seen a few white ducks though.😜

If you feel something bumping into your kayak, in the French Broad, it's probable a human turd, because thousands of sewers empty into the French Broad. The water is polluted AF!! Stay outta that sewer river. It's also one of two rivers in the United States that flow North. I've lived near FB river all my life. Edit:: The river is known as Shit Creek.

I have heard the same from others. It's really sad because it's so beautiful. People say never filter water out of the French Broad to drink.

@@myadventureoutdoors I'm telling you, dude. The French Broad is filthy, the water is full of human feces, it's not fit to drink. I can't believe people pay to float around in human shit. 🤢 🤮
