And to explain : Quiche Lorraine is because Lorraine is the Region where it's from. It's composed of Lardons (small bits of bacon), oignons, heavy cream and cheese :)

you said "je comprenais un peu le français" which mean "i understOOd a little french". You should say "je comprends un peu le français" which is the same thing but not in past tense like you did. Good luck for your journey into french language. (sorry for my bad english )
