Hi @nihalrencber1199, We haven't been to Turkey yet. It was originally part of our first-year plan, but that was around when the terrible earthquake hit and we opted to give it some time to settle. We're hoping to make it there in 2025. Thanks for your suggestions of places to visit! -Judy

Hi Rebecca, thanks so much for watching! Did I mention we have an entire episode coming from our visit to Amsterdam, which includes the Van Gogh museum (and the Rijksmuseum-I think you saw one of our posts from there)?! France was beautiful, and the food was delicious-pain au chocolat every day with a cappuccino is a pretty great way to start the day-not the healthiest, but definitely put us in a French state of mind! -Judy

@@FindingGinaMarie VERY cool about the upcoming Amsterdam episode! One of my future trips (2025 or 2026) will include Amsterdam and Belgium. Some of my family is from Belgium. I love your style of travel. It’s very similar to how my hubby and I like to travel.

@@GlobetrotterGranny We have a bunch of videos ahead of Amsterdam, but we think you will enjoy it! It was a quick trip but so worthwhile! And we met a couple from Belgium when we were in Torino. It's definitely one of the places we want to visit, too! We are finding that even with full-time travel we aren't able to get to everyplace we want to visit. Our travel itinerary for next year already is very full! -Judy

I really enjoyed this video. My husband and I were there just about 1 year ago,and this video brought back fond memories. We stayed in Nice and visited Antibes, Cannes and Monaco. We didn't expect to like it as much as we did! It was beautiful and charming. We would definitely return!

Thank you for watching, Linda! We would have loved to have seen Cannes and Monaco as well, but when we went overlapped the Cannes Film Festival, and it made everything more expensive than we would have liked (hence why we fortuitously ended up in Cagnes-sur-Mer). Good to know you had so much fun. We appreciate that you took the time to comment! -Judy

Enjoy very much being transcended to the countries you share with all of us through your keen video lens the cinematography alone, camera angles, lighting, vantage points, panoramic views are all extraordinary. Sharing the historical significance, architecture, museums, cuisine, people, music, transportation, travel hacks on admission passes, obtaining visa’s, total costs included on your journey, selection of the soft background music to each video is also enjoyed, along with the fun outtakes. Thank you both!! ❤️. To answer the question regarding having a segment about “ missing family and friends while traveling”without disrespect for the person who made that suggestion…. It’s a given when traveling to miss family and friends for the most of us, and for some of us, not so much ;) With the technology today; Zoom, Skype, Texting, makes communicating w/ family and friends optional when traveling. Personally, I would focus on enjoying every moment of the adventure that you (Judy&Kevin, all couples, and singles) have together while traveling, unplug, and perhaps try leaving the phone on airplane mode ha haha 😁. ❤️.

Linda, thank you for watching and for taking the time to offer these kind words. We really appreciate it. We're still trying to figure out our audience and whether people would prefer we skip some of the history, etc. and just share video with a few tips thrown in. The missing family and friends is more about full-time travel than vacations. I absolutely agree that during a vacation, no one really needs to check in. Maybe a little if it's for a few months at a time. The question has popped up from people considering traveling full time and how hard it is leaving everyone behind. And you are right, there are a ton of methods to stay in touch OR meeting people on the road, which is something we are loving! In fact, we met up with friends who live in Vienna, and they're people we probably wouldn't have connected with if we hadn't been visiting. We had so much fun spending an evening together! It does not mean you are isolated from everyone you know. We appreciate you very much! -Judy

I'm happy to have come across your vlog just a few weeks before visiting Nice and Antibes. It is my scrouting trip looking for a spot to retire. Could you pass along the recommendations for other villages with beautiful beaches that you mentioned in this video? I'll be so grateful. Thank you.

Thanks for watching, Teri. I'm including a link to our other videos from France if it's helpful for you. We spent the majority of our time in Cagnes-sur-Mer, which really felt like a tight-knit medieval town. The town we visited for fast wi-fi was St. Laurent du Var. We weren't able to travel too much, but here are some recommendations from our viewers: Èze, Cannes, Nimes, La Garde, and Theoule-sur-mer. Hope this helps you. Sounds like a wonderful scouting trip. We'd love to know where you end up! -Judy France video series: kzbin.info/aero/PLNT98lWfwdF30QE6-tAwEgv1BtjqNcWRg

Were you based in Cagnes Sur Mer for 1 month during your stay in French Riviera ? Did you also explore Vence, Eze, Grasse, Monaco and Menton during that 1 month ? I understand that all these places are just a short train / bus ride away ? In my planning, I have been thinking of basing myself in Nice for one month, and then exploring those places :). I had thought that it is better to be based in Nice (rather than Cagnes Sur Mer, for eg) because the former has easier transport connections to all the nearby cities ? This is based on my desktop research, hahaha 😊
@FindingGinaMarie
@FindingGinaMarie Жыл бұрын
Hi Mike, yes we were based in Cagnes, but you may recall that we had terrible wifi there. We ended up losing a lot of time traveling by train to the nearest Apple Store each week and also trying to find print shops to return packages-it's really hard to do returns when you can't easily print the return shipping labels! We also would have preferred to stay in Nice, but it was too expensive. We think it had to do with the Cannes film festival that overlapped, so that region generally was more packed than it otherwise would have been. We definitely would have loved to explore more of these places if we had more time. But honestly, Nice was only a few stops away from Cagnes (15 min by train), so it wouldn't be prohibitive to stay there and still catch these places, especially if accommodation prices were significantly higher in Nice. Thank you SO much for watching and engaging with us. We love hearing from you! -Judy

@@FindingGinaMarieI see, I am a budget traveler and if Nice is too ex, I think Cagnes Sur Mer would be a good option for me too. I remember that you had a good time at Cagnes Sur Mer - aside from the mosquitoes and flies ! But I guess that they are everywhere in the French Riviera during summer, including Nice, right ? :)
@FindingGinaMarie
@FindingGinaMarie Жыл бұрын
@@Property2030sgKevin reminded me that some of the restaurants at the top of the hill and where we stayed had more mosquitos and flies than when we were in the main thoroughfare of Cagnes-sur-Mer. I don't know if it had anything to do with the flowers that were around or not, but when we didn't eat at the top of the medieval center, we didn't have the same problems with insects. I also think that time of year was more problematic than other times. But we paid $1,374.21 USD for an entire month, which is a good price. And yes, I would expect Nice to be the same. I don't recall getting bit in Nice on the day we visited. Also, here's a link to our Airbnb if it's helpful (we are not sponsored or affiliated in any way with Airbnb). - Judy Airbnb: www.airbnb.com/rooms/35799399?source_impression_id=p3_1691942495_5y3W4mQ29uY7vvYC

Hi you guys make another subscriber, quick question, have you ever get the language barrier complicated in some places?
@FindingGinaMarie
@FindingGinaMarie Жыл бұрын
Hi Dora, thanks a ton for watching and subscribing! We have had trouble on a few occasions, but overall, we've done extremely well. Some places have English menus, but between all of the translate apps that are available, Google translate for photos and websites, etc., we're able to get by pretty well, and that includes getting my hair colored in nearly every country we visit (every 4 weeks!). That requires a lot of trust and a variety of ways to communicate, but it's managed to work out! We plan to have a video that addresses this topic because there are a lot of ways to make the language barrier easier to overcome. Great question! -Judy

@doratovar7428 Hi Dora, I wanted to mention that we put out a video a few weeks back (in part based on your question) about how we get around while we're in foreign countries where English isn't the primary language. Note that the episode starts out with Apple device recommendations, but then it talks about Google and some other super helpful apps. -Judy Communications outside of English-speaking countries: kzbin.info/www/bejne/foPciaSDi8R1jtU

Unfortunately, we did not. But that is why we want to visit again and explore more. Working while traveling makes it hard to see everything we want, even when we stay a month. So it's easier to go back, but we can't really jam everything into two weeks like you'd do if you were on vacation or fully retired. Thank you for watching and commenting, Sharon! -Judy
