I freakin love your channel man. It's like the ultimate anti-depressant. Also, I always love the greetings from Crazy Neighbor. Keep up the great work* I don't care if you're camping in a Wal-Mart parking lot, the woods, campgrounds, highway median, or a rest stop. You are why we watch. You're an awesome dude. I don't know if there's still time before you go, but if you can fit a rudder behind the propeller (fixed to the prop shaft above, so it turns with the direction of the motor) it'll give you much more steering control. Good luck on your quest!

This may get lost in the comments and thats fine but hopefully you'll actually get to see it. Just wanna say man that I'm 25 years old and on the 5th of August my son was born (my first child) and then 13 days later my fiance passed away from complications from the pregnancy. Its been a hard few weeks but your videos as simple as they may seem on the outside give me something to look forward to and offer a few minutes of enjoyment in these dark times. Not all hero's wear capes some are just regular dudes that like to camp. Keep it up Steve.

In utah we just had a windstorm Monday night into Late Tuesday early Wednesday depending on location. Official gusts were recorded at 99 mph in some areas. The University of Utah had an unofficial gust of 112 mph. 43 semi's were blown over. Trees have damaged homes and power lines. It is late Friday and there are reports of 35000 to 38000 homes/businesses still without power. Lucky only one reported fatality attributed to the winds.

Hey Steve, I just checked Canadian Tire website, in store inventory, they seem to have good stock on life preservers. I know you have a shit ton to do yet, but these are a good investment. I sailed in one hurricane in Bahamas, and many storms on Lake Erie, actually a nasty shallow lake. Better to wear the pfd and not need it. More good news, looks like Canadian Tire stores in Detroit area-Road Trip!

I'm all for this, BUT... The straps at the front, where the cones joins the tubes of the pontoons, need to have a shim or some kind of pressure dispersal. Do Not Tighten the straps with little pressure in the pontoons. First pressurize, then secure the straps. I hope you are bringing LARGE paddles, that outboard looks a little anemic. I know I'm sounding like grandma, just like your vids and wan't you back for more. Cheers from Montreal. Cant wait for the Christening!!! 🍺2

Great project, i‘m looking forward to spectate the trip. Maybe it‘s better the storm came now than when sou would be on the water and the structure collapsed. Your channel inspires me to do camping. Today i‘m packing for three nights camping. It‘s a campsite in Switzerland, 1.5 hours from where i live in the jurassic mountains. Cooking on fire is what i look forward to the most, and some step twos of course. Maybe i make a video and upload it on my channel as my first ever video 😁 so i don‘t expect much. Thanks for the good ideas and for showing us that we can do a lot with improvisation.

I found Steve in April a little after all the orders to hunker down were given. I was planning to go camping for the first time in over 30 years and was just browsing videos on camping and tent reviews. So i see this video and some guy is trying to camp stealthily at a patch of woods by a rest stop. I was pretty much hooked after that. I did get out to camp once in july before the fires started. Dont rhink ill make it again until next year. But sure will live vicariously (did i spell that rigjt) thru Steve until then. Well, and after that too!!

A 'boat' like that would probably be easier to control if the trolling motor was mounted on the bow rather than the stern. You can remove the head to turn it 180° by removing one bolt on the under side of the head, rotating the head, and then reinstalling the bolt so the handle is pointed the right way to steer it from the bow. You can also get an extension handle so it can be controlled from further away if that helps balance the boat.
@stevem.62794 жыл бұрын
steve, make a rudder with longer tiller. this will allow more movement aboard and allow you to fix motor in one direction. move the motor mount off to one side a little. good luck!
