If Pilote is the Mercure Hotel, Joa Camp has got to be the Ibis! Bright, comfortable, and everything you need but nothing you don't need.

So much like the P650 Pilote Pacific which we own, very similar fixtures and fittings as you would expect. Like the Pilote equivalent, it would seem that the Joa is lacking in power points. The Pilote P650C which we own like I say is very similar and comes in at 2800kgs, so there is plenty of payload in the vehicle after the essentials. There can be issues with the seals and condensation around the garage doors. The Joa looks to have the same doors. One of the best features of these is the fridge, oven on GB packs, and the neat 2 burner hob which most people could probably manage with. Remember the lack of cupboards all around the bedroom help with the weight. Great video, Andrew. For anyone that is interested I have done a video on the Pilote.

Very nice, I prefer the smaller motorhomes too which is why I suppose I like the panel van conversions! The lounge area never looks comfortable enough! Anyway, still enjoyed the video, I always do! So happy you & your brother had some special moments together, it was quite touching what you said in the newsletter! Please don't keep us in suspense too long about your 'news'!! Love Anne xxx 😘🐕🥰

Very nice van. Just one question: Have you ever reviewed a van or motor home that has seats for rear passengers actually comfortable? These do not look very comfy… Good to see you again :) !
@andrewjditton2 жыл бұрын
Good question! Only one springs to mind - it was a Challenger a few years ago at the Düsseldorf Show. It has two doors to the Cabin and single passenger seats either side. Mind you, whenever I've carried passengers in a van conversion or motorhome they assure me that they are comfortable enough, but it's never been for more than an hour.

I like it. Neutral works. You can add pizzazz. I do like the teal accent wall in the lounge. The two separate sleeping areas in that short a vehicle are nice. $81000 (I did the math) is inexpensive for quality class B Plus. Hope they come here.

There is no room for a dish drainer, sadly.

If this van is configured as 3.5t version there is very little payload when all the usual extras and packs are added
@drivingthefrontier2 жыл бұрын
The van is a 3.5t chassis, yes but weighs in around 2800kgs before you add your 'stuff', so there is actually more payload than you think. You rarely get the actual unloaded weights of vehicles on manufacturer's websites, they just tell you the revenue weight of the vehicle.

Do they make a smaller version?

Yes there is a 70 version

“Functional” I’d go for. Can be easily personalised to make it your own/more homely. This offers so much compared to others. Make a good hire vehicle?
@drivingthefrontier2 жыл бұрын
Hi it is a very innovative vehicle but the construction and the relatively low quality of fixtures and fittings would in my view render this vehicle as a poor hire vehicle due to the cost of replacing fitments and the lack of durability.

I really "F"ing like this funky, fun, etc motorhome. Unlike so many continental motorhomes it has an oven and grill which means that I could live with just two burners. The only negatives that I can see are wiring issues. It would have made more sense to put the USB charge points in the box and have a couple of 230v sockets there as well. The 230v socket by the door is a bit of a worry as it is next to the grab handle and somebody could pull a kettle full of boiling water over themselves.

I don’t know many families with £60k to blow on a motorhome. Come to think I don’t know many families who can afford any kind of holiday at the moment.
@andrewjditton2 жыл бұрын
Me neither... but they still can't make them fast enough!
@hywel31432 жыл бұрын
A simple, functional design, with good attention to detail. Pity about position of the socket near the kitchen on safety grounds: you would not want to plug in a kettle with children around. Personally I would have preferred no oven, to increase payload even further. Reminiscent of an Etrusco, Carado or Sunlight. Designed not to generate envy on the campsite but to allow you to travel and holiday well, which is the main point after all...
@andrewjditton2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely!

According to their own website it has a payload og 135kg on a 3,500kg chasis. In a word useless. Fit a roof bed and an oven and that falls to 87kg !
@drivingthefrontier2 жыл бұрын
It is a 3.5t chassis but the actual vehicle weight is around 2800kg so there is quite a bit of payload actually. The problem with most of the manufacturer websites is that they just mention 3500kg chassis or 4200 chassis etc but when you weight the vehicles separately on both axels you get the true picture. So the Joa could have possibly 650-700kgs payload.
@birdingbilly2 жыл бұрын
@@drivingthefrontier The manufacturers website actually says "Payload 135kg" that is there own website !
@drivingthefrontier2 жыл бұрын
