It's like Iman Tom is answering all of my questions regarding the application of Islam. I have been battling with the thought that may be praying and paying zakah and avoiding sins isn't enough and I should be doing something on a societal level for Islam but at the same time you can't do anything until you have built a stong imaan. Build a strong base first and leave the rest to Allah.

If our sister's only knew how deeply special they are to Allah (swt) and to this Ummah and the future of this Ummah, they would run to wear proper hijab. No matter what their age, social status, education. What an honor, what a privilege HE (swt) gives us. Allahu akbar! I have spoken with young sisters who are like, "yeah, yeah, it's all about the men and their naffs." Alhamdullilah That is scratching the surface. It's all about us sister's. And protecting the next generations of Islam to come. An honor and privilege HE (swt) gives ONLY to us. Alhamdullilah Before Islam, throughout my life, I would look at sisters and want to have that honor. The closer Allah (swt) brought me to Islam I would even put a hijab on and wear it around the house. I would drive around and go to the masjid and sit and pray with the sisters. I wanted to feel what my sister's felt, that honor. I had to see if it truly was what I felt to be true. And now after 19 years I couldn't imagine being without it. It is me. It is part of who I am. It is the first physical layer of protection for me. Alhamdullilah And when I step out of my home there is no denial of what and who I believe in. Alhamdullilah Even after childbearing years He (swt) tells us that it is better to remain covered. Alhamdullilah He knows best. Alhamdullilah What an honor what a privilege HE (swt) gives us. What a gift. Alhamdullilah Shukr Allah! If only my sisters could see it through my tear filled eyes for this gift. If only. Alhamdullilah Jazakallah khair Imam Tom for your eloquent and insightful way of communicating to our hungry hearts and intellect.

I’ve seen so many videos and khutbahs regarding sister and their dress/makeup. And the question “shouldn’t women wear the same thing outside the masjid in the masjid?” Of course it’s important. But all summer long I see brothers in swim trunks shirtless at the beach, walking around in shorts and only wearing pants when it’s time to pray or go to the masjid. And I really have never seen this topic addressed to the brothers.

To be very honest I am a man and I do not see this among brothers in the mosque I attend in the US but I do see the sisters wearing night and day from the mosque and in every day life. Everywhere is different I suppose
