Cordyceps Rice Broth Recipe:
10g dextrose
10g light malt extract
5g nutritional yeast
4g soy peptone
4g kelp extract
10g corn starch
1L water
per pan:
20g rice
30g broth

I agree I have learned alot from you I'm about 3 months Into my hobbyist mushroom growing with a presto doing five blocks at a time, but with you, south west mushroom and mossy creek I'm doing everything agar, liquid culture,cloning, grain spawn all with no contamination and I'm using a home made 70 dollar flow hood from a square fan and 2 10fre filters thank you for all you share! I could not be enjoying this hobby so much with out your videos

Easy-Organic Broth recipe: 500mL water 1 tbsp N.Y. 1 tbsp M.E. 35g brown rice 45-48ml nutrient broth Inoculate with 3-10ccs C.M. I use a tray/bag method. Jars are easy but dont produce the best looking fruiting bodies. MushLove

Ive used buffered peptone for liquid culture and purifying mycelium/spores - it is a good media because it can get super clear and slows growth so you don’t need to transfer continuously every few days when scaling up mycelium.

Have you considered using a peristaltic pump to deliver a measured amount of your liquid culture rather than using the vet gun? I have had some heated debates with Khan Park over it. Basically the setup up is the same.

I have one actually for another purpose but I haven’t tried it I think the vet gun gives more pressure for precise inoculating but I haven’t officially compared - this might make a good video

How did you sterile these small container with lids and pp5 bags. Did you put them in pressure cooker or autoclave machine? You skipped that part in this video.

Hello...I have two comments: If you don't see where you inoculated with your gun, you could stain your liquid mycelium beforehand. The fact that your corticeps fructify in the large bowls at the edge could be due to condensation forming there. Kind regards from Berlin

I think after innoculation there should need to mix thoroughly substrate to improve mycillum production

yes some people use silicon bags that can mix but if you add enough LC and evenly disperse it can work well too

I tried twice to grow cordiceps in 12qt bin then 6qt bin. The later was hopeful for awhile but didn't pin. The next time will be in pint jars.

How long did you let your containers colonize in the dark? They can develop overlay I think its called. That's when it's been in the dark too long.

Yo Gary, since you mentioned cordyceps, I was talking with another grower who said he adds a whole egg to his rice flour substrate. Apparently the protein loving fungi really like boneless chicken and calcium from the shell. Not sure what your method is, but definitely a fun idea to try. Also where did you get your flow hood from? I’ve been looking to upsize mine to get a larger work area

Doent Khan poke his bags when inoculating? Maybe that creates a cross breeze in the bag that you dont have? Also his racks are angled. I dont know about yours, just an idea.

It is very niche - so if you have a market then yes but they aren’t as popular as the rest of our mushrooms in general

You can make your own tinctures and sell them. If done right your tinctures can be very powerful.
