Star Trek was in syndication often enough that you could catch the episodes on TV but those novelizations probably helped fans learn the episode lore.

I should look into the history of these books. Novelizations have been popular but this spawned so many. However, similar shows had many as well - I’d love to collect the Dark Shadows novels - they are more expensive in decent shape.

Fascinating. Hey, I recognized that Godzilla roar immediately! Complete rip-off. I don't think I ever sat through an entire cartoon episode of Star Trek, but now I am sorta wishing I had. Fun video, David!

I’m getting into the original Treks thanks to these books. I also need to finish season two of Space 1999.

Good stuff! I too loved John Huston as Gandalf in the Rankin & Bass cartoons!

They aren’t for everyone but I’m enjoying their pulp.

Enjoy your time off. I like Star Trek along with other SF. I watched the doc, Pennywise: The Story of It, which was about Stephen King and the making of the 90s TV series. It was pretty good. I also watched Scum, which was about British youth delinquent homes or borstals back in the 70s. Pretty good, tho brutal. It's on YT. I also watch Sisu off YT about a guy finding gold and trying to avoid confronation with Nazis. Pretty good, but implasible like John Wick or something.

You really should be making vids and describing these movies.

Always happy when you find some old Star Trek to talk about David 😊 It was such a cool positive franchise. I love Cyndi Lauper. Not as much as my friend Annema, who even looks like her. Happy I’ve seen her live. Wonder if I can see that documentary here? Happy holidays my friend! Wishing you and your hubbie a lovely summer ☀️

I hope you can see it. Is there a branch of Hulu there? lol.
@mortenaastad796Ай бұрын
@@garagegeek4863 We don’t have Hulu, its content seems to be spread across various like Netflix, Max, Sky Showtime and so on. If at all.

I really want to read those Alan Dean Foster adaptations now! I always thought the cartoon episodes had cool ideas but somehow felt hollow.
@garagegeek4863Ай бұрын
The books flesh them out. If I get any doubles, I’ll send them your way.

Also, I wonder if the scripts for the cartoons, at least initially, were meant for the hour-long live show before it was cancelled…

I am glad you enjoyed Aporia! I had a similar eBay situation recently. I ordered a Playboy and the centerfold was ripped out. The seller wouldn't make it right until I opened a claim. Annoying.
@garagegeek4863Ай бұрын
It is. The cards came all out of order making me think they were trying to hide the fact one was missing. Almost all sets come in order.

What! The centerfold is the best part 🙂

I love Star Trek, but I have never read a Trek novel and I haven't seen more than a few episodes of the animated series!
@garagegeek4863Ай бұрын
I still haven’t seen every episode of the original series. It was always on and I kinda take it for granted. Time for that to change.
