I have to disagree about the "Tough to newcomers" statement. Killer Instinct has the easiest combos of any fighting game. Mainly because every character follows the same combo formula. You can also break an opponent's combo without using any meter. Which most games require. All in all, I'd say it's one of the most forgiving fighting games. Even for newcomers.

Jason Orozco Except KI is a dial-in fighter. There's no real timing to the combos. Unless you're doing character specific combos. Also, your comparison is completely wrong. KI is literally the same for every combo. Whereas the bread and butters for the other games you mentioned vary heavily for each character. I know because I've made Guides for all of them. Killer Instinct's combos are undeniably easier to perform. Keep in mind, that is in no way meant to be an insult to the game. I believe that all fighting games should be that easy.

+Green Sanic Well part of the reason that a Darkstalkers title is a bit hard to make is mainly in the animation department. Sure, they can redo sprites for a typically sprite-based game like Project X Zone, but the reason they say, only include Morrigan and Lei-Lei in say, UMvC3 is because they have pretty simple animations to work with whereas a huge number of the cast have things that are seemingly only doable with sprites.
