J3n50 That initial explanation was pretty good, but it only covers the Dead Apostles, it doesn't really cover the whole True Ancestor thing, which is what confused the hell out of me back when I was just getting into Tsukihime. From what I gather, Dead Apostles are those who become vampires after dicking around with Crimson Moon's research, but also people who get bitten by True Ancestors, and meanwhile True Ancestors are less like vampires and instead sort of like divine spirits created by Gaia in the image of Crimson Moon himself, as a failsafe to keep people from fucking up the planet too hard...or something? But then if they lose control of their bloodlust they go nuts and become super-vampires called 'Demon Lords'...or something? 'Moon Aliens' is super oversimplified, but it's one of the better ways I've seen this explained to outsiders without confusing the hell out of them. creating a wall of text and/or sounding like a crazy person. Although I suppose 'Moon Children' would be a little more accurate.

BDsprite You've got everything right from what I can remember- basically the guy known as Burnestud was an Avatar created for the express purpose of dicking around on earth and the True Ancestors were modeled after him in a deal sort of like trading away a copyright. The Dead Apostles were failures that got used as underclass blue collar labour for the Ancestors(they were flawed in several ways but since the original Burnestud could create undead servants there wasn't anything preventing his replica from doing the same) until the Apostles decided to ditch them to start their own empire with blackjack and hookers. I can append my original explanaition with: there was an elder god on the moon, it experimented on people making vampires as well as leaving behind a race called true ancestors as caretakers...which barely makes me sound schizophrenic at all!

I like moon aliens as the description, but it's more like vampires were made by moon aliens. Kinda. A moon god gave the Earth some moon aliens to keep tabs on humans cuz the Earth was getting paranoid. The moon aliens had some humans turned into bodyguards, and they were vampires. The vampires turned rogue, and through one way or the other the moon aliens all died but one, and the moon god went a-hole and got beat by some guy. But he can come back if a moon alien is ever born that can handle being his new body. The last moon alien shapes up for this, and she's that Arcueid girl. Archetype: Earth is her going all moon god mode. She's also got a blood rage mode, so that makes 3 of her in the game. 4 if you count the cat. The vampires are called Dead Apostles, the moon aliens are True Ancestors and the moon god has too many names so I'll just go with Type-Moon. (Anime!)

*Woolie*: He’s born into a clan where he can see the lines that kill the world and kill everything. But it drives him crazy so he has to put these glasses on to stop it. Shiki has the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception. With his eyes, Shiki can basically see the future of when objects die or are destroyed and the “future” are seen as points on the object’s body with lines that extend from those points all over the body. Tracing these lines, with a knife for example, “realizes” the fated destruction and kills or destroys the victim. Piercing the dots basically destroys the “concept” of the object themselves. However, since humans aren’t meant to see death in such a way, it can cause headaches during use. If the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception are used too much, from seeing dots and lines on living things to inanimate objects, it can damage the brain, cause the brain’s blood vessels to burst and cause death to the user. Maaaan~ MELTY is literally my favorite fighting game series. You guys have to look at some high-level play. The way momentum shifts in this game is crazy. One minute it's endless blockstring, the next, the defender gets a nice counter hit and gets a sick combo and resets the position in their favor. The game is ALL about oki setups and pressuring your opponent into pressing something during a blockstring. Spooky used to play MELTY a lot back when he was a starting out hi streaming thing~ He plays a really good V.Sion. It's REALLY entertaining to watch. -And yea, some of the character designs are kinda out there, but the PERSONALITY behind each character is beautiful.[/bias] Like Aoko (the plain white-T chick) is legit dressed like that because she's one of the laziest people ever. But also one of the most powerful mages in that Universe. She just doesn't give half-a-fuck. Eitherway! Glad you guys gave MELTY a shot! Love seeing the game get any sort of positive exposure~

Btw Ryougi Shiki has a secret hidden move too bad you guys havent even landed a basic one -_-. If you and your opponent both uses powerup thing(I forgot what is called) at the same time Shiki can use a move(I think its called Last-Arc) that if landed always kills opponent in one hit no matter how much health he has(Its ultra cool).

Also, to all those who think this is /just/ creepy anime bullshit, go watch Kara no Kyoukai or Garden of Sinners. It's a series of movies with some of the highest production values you'll ever see animated, with an amazing story and music, just go watch it. The main heroine in those movies is Shiki, the girl at 2:35.
