I've done the Paris Friday Night Skate twice. I hope to do it one more time while my body still can take the cobblestones. It's a lot of fun!

They stop traffic while the rollerbladers are passing so it's easy to hear them skating. I always record for high dynamic range so it can sound better if you crank the sound a bit.

The solstice was on Thursday, so the sun is up late right now. Today it set at about 10 PM, and during summer it is still light at this time of the evening. On a clear day, there will still be traces of light in the sky well after 11 PM.

I haven't been on skates in ages. I'm very accident-prone, and I especially wouldn't want to risk skating around with a camera in hand.
