FANTASTIC song!!!!! Very clever and fun 😄! The tank turned out very well and does look like it was made to match the pants. Time for shorts here, too - 96 and humid today...but I still love summer and with AC, although I am lucky to have AC so can escape when I want to...

Hi Carol, your selection of fabric for your shorts is fabulous and they will match your tank top so well. Your striped yellow tank top looks so cute with your yellow trousers. I think you are getting so close with the fit of your elastic waist trousers. One trick I do for a similar adjustment (if there are no pockets) is to try the trousers on prior to sewing in the waistband, tie a piece of elastic around the waist and then mark the excess fabric to be cut off from the side to the centre front waist. For me, I don’t seem to need to cut much from the sides - but then there is quite a slope down to the centre front waist. I then sew the waist band to the adjusted trousers and this seems to work. This also works on track pants and shorts (provided there are no pockets). I can’t believe how hot it is there for you. 🌸😊

Love the yellow outfit!! I can’t wait to see the adjusted shorts (tilted waist adjustment 😂). The pink tank is going to be perfect with that Lady McElroy fabric. I’m really looking forward to you making that Style Arc shirt dress because I absolutely love it, but I wonder if I would need to do a FBA on it. Have a good weekend!!

Thanks, Izzy. Yes, I plan on adding a dart and doing an FBA for the Style Arc dress as well as a couple of other adjustments. So I'll be toiling it before making it with nice fabric. I hope you have a good weekend too!🌞

Polly, I love your song. We were mid to high 90's here in Ohio. Ugh.😫 I like the pants on you. I think I heard Izzy say something about a tilted waist adjustment.

I have the same body shape as you and need the same pants adjustment. You have the right idea with your tilted waist adjustment, but you don't take out the same amount all the way across the pattern piece. You essentially take a wedge shape from the center front side and add a wedge piece into the center back, leaving the side seams the same length (unless you have to shorten or lengthen the torso in general. To do this, you need to cut into the seam allowance from the outside (hip side) of the pants pattern to just about an eighth of an inch before the stitching seam line. Then cut from the center seam line across to the side seam stitching line, but not through the seam allowance line, to the first cut, leaving a tiny "hinge" attached. You do this on both the front and back pants pattern pieces. Measure your front rise and back rise, and open the center back pattern piece the amount your pants needs to be raised up, taping a piece of paper behind the pattern piece and truing up the centre and side seam lines. Then on the center front pattern piece, overlap the amount you need to take away and tape the pattern together there. Add any paper needed behind the pattern so you can true up the sides, and tour front and back pattern pieces will still match on the sides, but will now match your body in the front and back. If you only need to take away from the front and not add to the back, then just alter the front and leave the back as is. I hope that all makes sense, but if not, there are several online tutorials for it. I know Lifting Pins and Needles, and Tomkat Stitchery both have one. It's much easier than the explanation sounds.

Awesome! I'm going to give that a try with my next pair. Thanks for the information, it's truly appreciated 🧵😊🪡

Hi! I would make your next waist adjustment right at the waistband. Cut it off to where you want it. I have a similar problem but add a flat backside to that. Flipping the band works for me, too. Good luck! 🍀 Bernadette

Hi Carol, I've been looking for a good fabric to make tees with. Which cotton jersey from stylemaker do you use? Is it the mid-weight? Thanks so much.

Hi Polly, I have been watching your videos for a long while now--usually on the TV, so don't comment. Your singing entrance made me smile. Will be watching for your shorts. I believe Joy Bernhardt has talked about a tilted waistline before on her YT channel.

Thanks for the tip on Joy's channel! I appreciate the info and will use it on my next pair! I watch a lot of videos on my TV as well, and can't comment either. So I'm happy you took the time to comment today 😊

Hi Tracy, I found the Lady McElroy online at their website. I actually found their wholesale website by accident so ended up buying several bolts of their fabric, but I believe you can find their retail website and order the fabric as well.

Hi Traci from Ohio!! Thank you for watching my channel and taking the time to comment. Yes, it's 111 degrees and even warmer (hotter) today. I'm in Northern California near the Sacramento area. We normally get very hot summers, but this heat wave came earlier than usual
