Never thought this could be the reason as to why my fridge has cooling issues and freezes some items based on where they are placed. Thank you !

Really "cool" video. Great recommendation that takes little effort but has big effect on cooling efficiency.

Excellent video thank you for doing it. Play some words of wisdom.m Sadly stumped what's causing both fridge and freezer warm on a GE MODEL # GSL22JFPC BS. Have No voltage to the condenser fan motor. Oddly enough if has anything to do with this started after I defrosted the freezer because the drain plug was plugged with debree Caused Ice build up at bottom of freezer. no ice buildup on coils inside. Fan inside runs. No visible damage to control board on back. Compressor doesn't come on

Hello Mr. Joe Foe! Thank you for your comment and kind words! I’m sorry to hear about your problem. I’m a little stumped too :( And your coils are clean?
@MrJoefoefrombuffalo8 күн бұрын
@mikebikercanada coil is clean. Also compressor does not turn on or make any noises. It is cold

hmm. I’m really not sure about that. Hopefully someone else chimes in. Please keep us updated if you end up getting it diagnosed. Sorry I can’t help :(

I've got the opposite problem: my Whirlpool fridge doesn't stop running. Must be something with the thermostat. Do you have any tips to fix this?
@mikebikercanada24 күн бұрын
Hi, have you tried cleaning the coil anyway? A dirty coil will force the fridge to work harder at cooling and will result in a louder fridge that seems to be always running.

@@mikebikercanada My refrigerator doesn't have a coil. It's a different system. What you're showing me, I've never seen before. My refrigerator has a mesh panel on the back through which a tube system runs that gives off heat to the environment. It's not an expensive Whirlpool either. Just a simple and cheap table model. But it does get expensive if it runs for 24 hours. On the other hand, it is nice and cold. Always around 0 degrees Celsius. Inside there is a small kind of box that contains the lamp and also the thermostat knob. If I turn the knob to zero, the refrigerator switches off. And I do hear the bimetal click off. If I then turn the knob back to 4 or 6, it does NOT switch on again and I do not hear it click on again. Then I have to wait a long time. Only when it has warmed up (too much) it switches on again by itself. And if I don't do anything then, it keeps running endlessly.

Oh I see! That definitely sounds like a different system than I’m familiar with. But still possibly an issue with the condenser (whichever system it is) or even more likely it’s low on r refrigerant and needs a recharge. Maybe try searching KZbin for refrigerant issues with your model fridge? Sorry I couldn’t be of any more help. Please let us know if you discover the exact problem. I’m very curious.

is the coil supposed to be hot or warm to the touch? bc my coil isnt warm at all and im starting to think this means it’s a different issue than the coil being dirty
@mikebikercanadaАй бұрын
Hmm. I don’t think thats an issue. Technically a properly functioning compressor should be warm, but not very hot. If it's very hot then that’s a bad sign. The condenser fan is suppose to keep the coils cool and prevents the compressor from overheating. Were your coils dirty at all?
