Like with the previous video with these 2 amps, the Runt 20 held its own. While the JJ has more gain and a little more low end response, the Runt is magnificent in response. While I have the PT20 and neither of these I believe I would be a little more inclined to the Runt. Both great sounding amps though, but the Runt really is surprisingly good in these two “vs” vids you have done

Like both a LOT, but the JJ Jr to me adds more sizzle and low end..for $200 more, I will take it

Would like to hear both friedmans in wet dry, stereo, etc. Don't think that's been done before!!!

I recently picked up the Runt and this tells me I made the right choice. The JJ is too scooped for me. I have to admit though that with one panned to each side the sound is fantastic.

A lot of low end is missing from both amps :/ Can you even get the low end without a cab i wonder? I would mainly use this amp for recording and playing at home without a cab, is it worth getting?

I have a JJ Jr combo on order. I've been watching a lot of videos while I wait for mine to come in. This is just my opinion from watching videos but if you are only going to be using the XLR out, I would probably go with something else like a Kemper. I'll be practicing a lot with XLR but for recording, I plan on putting the amp in a large closet and micing it. I don't think you'll ever get that great low end from running the direct out. It will be decent but for the price, I think a Kemper would serve you better. You'll get a ton of more options and still good tone but not what you would get from a mic'd cab.

I don't think low end is missing for a recorded tone. Once you add bass guitar to a mix it fills up the lows. Most engineers will high pass guitars at 60hz or sometimes even higher to clear up space for bass anyway. I'd think this tone would work just fine in a full mix.

My Wildwood version Pink Taco is very beefy with bass, even when running direct. No issues at all.
