Good job the wing was not scratched 😂😂 Brought that vehicle from Friend Green Porsche Silver 997. I have been to a few private and trade dealers and I can honestly say Luke is as honest as they come, feeling the honesty gave me confidence straight away on the first visit of viewing the car to buy it there and then. Everything I asked for he provided before I went to see the silver 997 in the photo. Solid car, still under warrantly with Friends Green Porsche(hopefully I will not be back lol) Luke contacted me himself after I purchased the vehicle to get the service book to me(because of ockdown, Porsche was closed at the time, so we could not get the dealer to stamp the book, as it had full service history)as the previous owner lost the service book. Highly recommend to go and buy your vehicle from Friends Green Porsche if you see a car you like on their website. They know their stuff, with nearly 10 years or over being in the game, buy with confidence and peace of mind.

Luke, a great comparison and info regarding service interval vs miles driven. Amazing how clean that 5 y.o. oil and filter was in the 997. However, I think the main difference between the two oils is the respective total mileage of the two cars - the blue 996 has done 97000 miles compared to the very low mileage of the 997. The accumulated internal carbon, etc from normal engine combustion increases with miles driven. So the oil will blacken more quickly. Nothing wrong with that, but I think it highlights how important regular (at least annual) oil changes are on higher mileage vehicles. Still, I was amazed at how clean the 997's oil was after 5 years. Both beautiful cars with interesting specs - I agree with you on that point wholeheartedly. Even more so with tbe Ocean Jade Metallic 996. It's a credit to you and the service you provide with total transparency on the vehicles you sell. A refreshing change from most used car dealers....... A shame I'm in Australia as I would buy the Ocean Jade 996 from you in a heartbeat.

Hi Mark, thanks for the kind words again. Interesting perspective on the condition of the oil. You are probably right, it is likely to be a combination of a fresher engine with less internal carbon build up, as well as the oil doing less work (2,000 miles) than the oil in the 996 (8,000 miles).

Love your videos. I just went thru a similar situation with my recent purchase. I actually had a PPI done at a "Porsche" dealer (seller spilt the cost ($550)). Their checklist had "check oil level/condition". It was marked "na" because it was due for a major service. That is BS! The next day I found a local shop that pulled the oil filter, cut it in half and roll it out. It all looked good so I had him change the oil and look the rest of the car over. The car had a 3 year gap(16,000 miles) in the service(according to CarFax). The car is a 2009 Carerra S with 43,000 miles. I took the car home, washed it and completed the purchase!

I honestly can't believe any 911 owner not at least changing the oil every year regardless of miles. It is a cheap insurance policy to do preventative maintenance. Having said that, it is nice to see the oil so clean after all those years!

Keep the blue 996 for a little while and enjoy it. Really enjoyed the angle on time vs. milage services.

I have an ‘06 C4S and change the oil and filter every year, but I only cover about 1000 miles per year. My oil had never looked that clean!

Great vid again thanks, I'm with you about the exhaust clamps on that beautiful 996, why do people do that? I also notice that your garage is full of coupes, do you dislike the cabriolets, tips, etc. I'd love to hear your thoughts in a future video

Agree I am loving the original looks of the early 996, for me quite attractive and think that the feeling is growing amongst Porsche folk? it has taken a while, but I am seeing more love, which is well deserved and LONG overdue. I would take a good early 996 over a later 996 any day.

Love the 996. Did you know the name of the 200 cell cats? I have a 2005 3.6 997 I’m thinking of swapping to 200 cells. Be good to get your suggestion of which ones to go for. Thanks.

Hi Steve, I can recommend the "DesignTek" or "Top Gear" units. They sound incredible; you won't be disappointed with them.
