We are looking for eggs 🥚🥚🥚
We use salt, warm water, the microscope and... horse manure. We are looking for worm eggs. This way we can find out whether we should deworm the horses or not.
We do this with the Worm Test, Mc Master, counting chamber. www.wormtest.nl/
I am not a veterinarian myself. We do this all from our own experience and we use the supplied booklets, which are in different languages. With the results of the test, we will deworm specifically with the right deworming agent and in consultation with the vet.
When the horses are allowed to go outside again, Rising Star⭐ is bullying Queen👑Uniek. A sign that it is almost time to wean him.

Nice video, very informative and interesting of course. I am 69 yrs old and have had 2 horses, one 22 hr old AQHA quarter horse is still with me. We live in Alberta in western Canada and used to ride in the beautiful Rocky Mountains nearby. My horse has a very hard working history in working with cattle, ranching, rodeo pick up work, competitive barrels and such because he is so fast. He has some arthritis now and so is retired. He is a gorgeous bright luminescent red/sorrel/chestnut colour like Rising Star. I don’t ride anymore due to age and fear of injuries so I but just enjoy spending time grooming, ground work and playing hide and seek in a hilly pasture with a shelter in it. I use him as an extremely safe, ‘honest’ horse to introduce little kids, especially girls to learn confidence and safe handling, basic equine daily care and beginnings of horsemanship. Chip (his barn name) is HIGHLY intelligent, has a solid work ethic that quarters are famous for and he has a great memory. Chip enjoys going for walks, being turned loose to gallop down the hill so beautifully and as I am learning, playing games. I miss riding so much I can’t tell you. That said, if I ever consider getting another riding horse it will definitely be a Friesian at the top of my list. Such showy, smooth, high stepping beauties with that draft temperament. Makes me want to saddle up again. ❤️🐴🇨🇦

Very informative. Yvonne takes good care of the horses and it's great she is training the young people. Risey is learning his growing up skills. That was interesting to see how you check for worms. Although, I must admit I kept scrunching my nose and gagging a little watching Yvonne pick up poop samples. I can see why it was probably time to wean Risey.. He reminded me of toddlers trying to jump and play on their parents back. He is actually just trying to dominate her here. He is a stallion, and she is a mare, and he is coming of age. He is still a little too young at the time of this video to try to mate with her, but he will later if he is not separated.

I never realized the amount of work that went into the care of your horses. From the hours it takes to wash and groom each horses to checking for worms or skin problems. Making sure their shoes are maintained; dental work, exercising, training, feeding. You all work long hours cheerfully and humanely with each animal. It’s awesome to watch in the videos. 👍🏻. Goedzo

You unfortunately cannot do that. It then creates worms resistant to dewormer. You want to confirm it is necessary and need to know which deworming treatment to use.

I worked in public Health and part of my job was parasitology. Mostly on people but we were in a farm area so also some animals and also water sources for the animals. If you add a bit of iodine it is easier to see the parasites also there is a flotation method you might use for the eggs so you might ask about that. The eggs are lighter so float. You touch the slide or coverslip to the very top surface of the liguid in a tube. Even one egg is important cause it comes from the worm in the gut (we kinda have all the same parasites but the animals are walking bare foot and eating raw unwashed grass that is out in the environment so get them more)

That was just dominance play, but it will eventually lead to mating behavior if it continues unchecked. That is why horse breeders have to separate colts from their moms before they hit adolescence.

@@visse264 Definitely not because RJ stood erect and was ejaculating, those are the signs of arousal (intention of mating). RS was just trying to dominate his mom, he had no signs of arousal.
