Frigidaire Refrigerator Repair - How to Replace the Lower Hinge Pin

Kudos for this video which saved me a thousand dollars :) Just two days back my Frigidaire fridge's bottom hinge gave up. Being a 12 years old fridge, I seriously considered replacing the fridge till I stumbled on your video. Watched it twice, had my tools including a ratchet-reversible with a 3/8" socket ready and replaced it in 10 mins. I am 73, not a handy man and thanks to your video that I was able to save the day. I'm also impressed that you created this video dressed up so neatly. Wish you were close by and I could take you out for a lunch. Thanks a million.

Thank you so much with this video I was able to fix my Frigidaire fridge! (model FFHT1725LSB) One day the door just fell. I couldn't figure out what happened cause there were no missing parts. Turned out the lower hinge pin just got stock in the door (in hinge bearing). So I had to eject it, and put it back to the socket. I had to take the upper door off as in the video as well.

Are these pins of a soft metal? Could they break or become skewed off without damaging the actual lower hinge? Long store involving fridge in basement near door, freezing temps, dripping water, and a block of ice that formed from the exterior wall and expanded to include enough ice to grow between the pin and the fridge. [Edit] I think what happened is I tried open and closing the door during ice removal and the pin may have been pushed out of the lower hinge. I’m hoping that, following your video, I can just slip the pin back into place. Seem feasible? (He asked hopefully)

Thank you! Mine was a little different in that the hinge (vertical rod thing) between the freezer and fridge doors isn't screwed in. Mine just comes out of fridge door with a good pull upwards.
