Thank you so much for showing so clearly how to replace the door latch assembly. I called the Frigidaire Company and they had me to press Start and Cancel buttons at the same time on my front load washer and hold. It brought up the error code which told them that it was the door latch assembly. I was able to replace it myself, and saved a lot of money. Thank you!

***** I have the same washer and is not do the final spinning . I have cleaned the water pump and the filter. The pump is draining the water for final spin but the drum doesn't move. I cam here the pump working and see the water dreaming. Any ideas please?

Thanks for the video. Easy fix. My Kenmore machine wouldn't go into high speed spin to finish the washing load. A new door lock fixed the problem.

So if the door lock shows locked throughout the whole thing but the final spin won’t happen. Is it still Worth changing out the door lock? My drain pump kicks on and works great. I’ve tried the drain/spin cycle and it says it takes 13 minutes it will drain and then just click off but never spin taking all of a couple minutes to run through it’s 13 minute cycle. Any suggestions?

What if replacing it doesn't fix the drain and spin cycle. And if you think the drain pump dirty stuck or broken that doesn't make any sense because it drains and spins in the wash cycle. Also there a video to drain and spin when it won't do it on its own. That works but I'm not doing that every time. So to fix do you think the new door lock is faulty and order another one or something else?

I have a similar washing machine (only difference are knobs) and mine will turn on, door locks, you can hear the pump kick on and start draining. But after 5 to 10 seconds with no drum spin at all, machine just turns off... Any ideas on problem?

I have this same washer I replaced the door lock and now when I plug it back in all it does is go straight to no spin option and sounds like it is trying to drain then shuts off

I replaced the latch, cleaned out the drain and checked the belt (which seems fine) and my washer is still not entering the high speed spin cycle… any tips because I’m drawing a blank and the only repairman in my area won’t be able to come by for months.

Mine won’t go into high speed spin but the problem is neither the lock or the control board. I can get it to high speed spin only in diagnostic mode and when it does, it’s extremely out of balance. I can’t seem to find any info online re fixing this. I know some washers have springs or rods to balance the drum but have no idea where to check on this model.

My washer doesn't work on high spin. I sow the video with the door lock. Is not the case on main. I cleaned the filter and the pomp. The pomp is draing th water but for the final spin and the drum is not spinning. You have any idea what to do ?

Ok my problem may or may not be the door lock, here is what I've tried and the last spin cycle doesn't spin no matter what spin setting I have it on from slow to max: I turn on for normal wash it fills and spins, I hit cancel turn to spin only and the water drains out fine and quickly, the lock door light is on this whole time but it will not spin.......could this still be the door lock or could it possibly be a bad spring or shock even though the machine doesn't make any unusual noises rattling or anything....It spins during wash and rinse just not the last final spin no matter the spin setting??? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Hi Carolyn, just curious did you figure out what the problem was? I just replaced the lock and strike on my frigidaire affinity washer only to find that it not longer performs spinning during the drain/spin cycle, although door lock light remains on and door cannot be manually opened. What was the repair and how much did it cost? Thanks.

Door can remain locked and light is lit, but door lock may not signal as locked to control panel to allow entry into high speed spin. I purchased an ebay door lock for $25 and washer tumbled but did not enter spin, although door was lit and remain locked. As this ebay part appeared used, I then purchased a factory sealed product for $50 and door and light were locked and washer entered high speed spin, without a problem.

Similar problem but will work without issue if there aren't any cloths in the machine. If I put a very light load in, it will not spin at all. It will do a light agitation but stops. Same washer.

I ohm'd the wax motor and got OPEN. I jump-wired it with 120v and it heated up but no movement. I replaced the lock assembly and nothing changed. I ohm'd the drive motor and got 4.6 on all the windings and about 190 on the tachometer wires. I didn't check for shorts on the windings, so that's next. When I touched the motor to see if it was hot I got a mild shock. Would that suggest a faulty motor speed control-board? that is the next thing I'm looking at. -c. This has a mechanical timer, and I recall when I advanced it no water was coming in so I will have to re-check the cycles when I go back first of all. (Maybe a delay before the valves open?)

Mine is not showing an issue with door lock. If I put it in drain/spin, it'll drain, but the tub will not move. I was able to run the diagnostic by setting the dial to drain/spin, holding control/cancel for a few seconds, and then turning the dial to Delicate, which the unit then ran through the full drain/spin test, however, when it was done, it displayed E43 which is listed as "Control Board problem", with a resolution of "Replace the control board". Is there anything else that would cause an E43, or am I looking at replacing the control board?

I was getting the same issue. I almost spent the $130 for the control board for mine, but I decided to check the debris trap. That thing was clogged up so bad even water couldn't drip through! After cleaning the trap, it works perfectly!

My lights lite up but it says it's on final spin. It won't start at all. The start light blinks and I'm able to open the door. My husband is out of town for two weeks. With three kids I need to get this fixed ASAP. FYI my washer looks almost identical but it's Kenmore,

i am lost with my washer, MHWE550WR00. It works fine other then high speed spin, it had the door lock code come up, replaced that, same issue. It thinks there is water still in the machine and keeps trying to drain. Replaced the pressure switch, same issue. Ran the diagnostic, when into high spin....I dont get it.

Prior to 1:10, the machine sensed the door was locked. Then, you edit to another clip after you didn't show yourself pushing the cancel button and open the door and claim that shouldn't happen... You steered the fix! There's no indication from this video that the door lock was the actual problem. The drum won't rotate at all with the door lock being faulty! This is a misleading video, and that's a scummy move for someone trying to help people. The entire premise of this video is a lie. That washer works just fine and you wanted to demonstrate how to swap the latch out. That's it. Doesn't help me at all. Then you claim that before, you had absolutely no drum rotation whatsoever at 6:09 (see 2:26). Absolutely the worst waste of time, this video, as I'm trying to fix mine! Nothing was ever wrong with this washer.
