Great video and thanks for sharing the insights. This really reaffirms what I learn about value investing. As a business owner myself, we should own other companies which we would like to be owners of. Strong fundamentals and competitive advantage. It does not happen how old a company is. A 100 year old company might just be a shell of itself compared to a 10 year old company with strong investment moats.

Good and informative. Banks are well known for making solid profits and paying good dividends. But they are very expensive now. Fortunately I have had UOB for many years now, some bought for as low as $10 - 12 per share. There is another share which has served me very well over the last 10 years or so which is SGX. It is not so prohibitively expensive as the banks but it has been very consistent over the last decade or more paying quarterly dividends. Surprised this was not in your list!

Hi, we don't. This was done to restructure a fund we used to manage. But we're sure you can take some pointers away from this video. At the end of the day, it is about adding quality companies into your portfolio. This is more important than holding on to losing companies and hoping that they bounce back. =)

Hey Jie Lun, This portfolio was waaayyyy back in 2011 before Hyflux got into trouble and being suspended. That's why we were able to sell it off back then. In addition, the portfolio was de-commissioned and the profits returned to shareholders back in 2013. Just to be clear, these are not stocks we are holding in our current portfolio. They are totally different. =) The reason we are sharing this video is because it contain really valuable lessons. On how you should manage your portfolio and what you should do if you are holding on to losing companies. Compound your winners, not your losers.
