I think it should have 2 different profile for people in their 40s, Single or Married with family. Both could have different priority and different commitment

Hi from your fan over the causeway XD. Totally agree on the MINIMUM 20%-25% savings on top of CPF (EPF in MY) - helps keep spending in check & makes financial freedom faster. Keep it up, keep on keeping it real. Sometimes, that's the only way we know we are doing things right - the slight pain/discomfort XD (savings, pressing forward, etc)

Hi Mun Keong, thanks for being a fan! Yes, saving is the very first step to investing. We can't invest if we don't save!

Overall and Most valuable advice is to invest in assets. ETFs and real estate is the reason for my robust portfolio and investment size, I make over €57k after compounding profits. My goal is to build a solid financial statement before 50

I'm not going to spend money like that until I have some residual income coming in. I'm just trying to see how I should invest at age 40.

Great video. I wonder whether the rule of 100 still applies given low interest rates and increasing longevity.
@TheFifthPersonChannel3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Derek! The rule of 100 is still just a rule of thumb. It's more useful to adjust it according to your investment goals and risk profile.

Disagree on the 12 months emergency fund; it’s not cast in stone. 6 months will be good for most people. Different strokes for different folks though.

Yes, 6-12 months is good! It's up to the individual.
