Can you believe it, I have the same bicycle, restored it 11 years ago. Carrier looks slightly different, but rest is the exact same. Good job on the restoration, as always!

Thanks Nicki, so glad to see there’s another one still floating about and still in good nick as well 👍🏼

what a lovely little bike. as I was watching you complete this, I was thinking about the sheer excitement its first owner must have felt when they saw it, and wondered whether it started a lifelong love of cycling and maybe, just maybe a professional racing career? we all have to start somewhere after all!!!

I was thinking a similar thing while restoring it. I’d love to have a snapshot into the past and see the delight on the kids face when they were first presented with this little bike many years back 😄

Looks great! When you are spreading the chainstays apart you only need to turn the nut on one end - the force will be applied equally to both stays unless you are holding the threaded rod in the middle. They will balance themselves out. I am not as certain as to the next comment, but I believe when using cotter pins on the cranks they should be installed in the opposite direction so that on the power stroke the pressure is pushing the pin deeper into the hole, rather than applying force on the nut. Keep up the great work.

Thanks for the feedback Robert 👍🏼 Interesting theory on the cotter pins although in this instance I don’t think there’ll ever be much pressure on the power stroke 😆👍🏼

We had one as kids in out street. It was shared. If you pulled the front brake too hard it would send you flying. lol
