Being narrated by Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing makes this fascinating documentary extra special.

Hammer was famous for so many scary movies when I was a kid in the 70's. Born in '64 I saw some in the theater at a very young age. In the 2010's I explored and enjoyed many more I hadn't seen across genres. Love Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing. Growing up to find out they were great people was a joy over decades. At 12 seeing Peter Cushing in Star Wars was a thrill, he was a hero of mine and very famous for us kids in California. As a kid Caroline Munro was a huge cush - come on, Sinbad, James Bond, and Dracula? I adored her she was the beautiful girl who was so cool, lol. So many truly great actors from Joan Fontaine in The Witches, Oliver Reed as the Wolfman, Bette Davis as The Nanny, etc, etc, etc. Great young Brits to American legends, very talented people in front and behind the camera. I remember as a kid when Stephanie Beechem played Van Helsings granddaughter the character then showed up in Marvels horror Comic Tomb of Dracula, teaming up with Blade to Battle you know who. Thrillers, mystery, suspense, drama, horror, Hammer had some great films. I still watch one here and there from time to time. Much love, and thank you.

Well said! I definitely have great memories of them even though I was a decade further in my life. It's because my family all loved the British greats!

One summer when my brother was about 12 and I was around 10, we went to bed at our usual time and patiently waited for our parents to also go to bed and hopefully, into deep sleep. When we were certain the coast was clear, he and I snuck downstairs to the den to watch the Hammer classic, Horror of Dracula, on the late late show. There was no way our parents would have approved us being up at that hour nor would they have allowed us to watch such a movie. But we planned our little adventure carefully and it came off without a hitch! We saw the entire movie, creeped back upstairs to our beds, and our parents were never the wiser. I still love the Hammer films and whenever I see one, I always fondly remember that summer night and how it was one of the few times we ever got away with something without being caught.

I saw a lot of these films on TV during the 70s. I did a film study course in 1980 which analysed the gothic hammer horror films. It was absolutely fascinating.

I don't think it's even the best Hammer Dracula film. Risen From The Grave is superior overall for me.

Hammer Studios made great classic horror movies . Old school style when horror was really horror without the 80s slasher stuff .

Im old enough to have discovered hammer films in the late 70s early 80s. I was conceived on halloween and i lived for monsters and choice horror films. Thennnnnnn i found HAMMMER. STILL choice horror but with A) color B) blood and C) cleavage it was practically my first porn. Elvira owes you royalties. Up the Hammers!! Ps i was versed enough to see star wars and be the one kid who said "darth Frankenstein!!" True story
