Great conversation with Devin, who makes his return to the channel with his new whip, the 2023 GR Corolla Circuit Edition. It was nice to have him back on the channel since he was the first person I featured on my channel's Supra Build Series. Make sure to give him a follow on Instagram (@2j_who) to see what happens with his build and feel free to DM him if you want more details on specific mods that he has on the car.
This definitely won't be the last time you all see this car on the channel. More content coming soon with it!

The Corolla is way more practical, imho. The Supra has no back seats and the trunk is not enormous. Which is fine if it’s just a toy. But if you want a little of everything, the Corolla is it.

Nonsense. I've driven my Supra as a daily for 3 years.
@VinceChristmastree
@VinceChristmastree 7 ай бұрын
Depends on your use. For me, I decided to get a Supra because I never used the back seats in my STIs and Type R and a majority of the time, it was just me and a passenger. Corolla's trunk space is much smaller than an STI hatch, but definitely bigger than a Supra. Corolla is definitely a great contender for a fun daily driver if power is not a priority. Reminded me so much of my STI hatch and I put like 20k miles on mine in the first year I had it.
@ianstallings
@ianstallings 6 ай бұрын
@@dannyd7714 I did that with mine too for 25k miles, so I know what I'm talking about. Try carrying a dog around, or stuffing a set of golf clubs in. It's not practical just because you suffer everyday.

I own a 6MT MK5, and I have driven the GR Corolla for weeks at a time. I drove these cars back to back for weeks. The Corolla is more fun around town, and its a better daily sports car. many thanks@@VinceChristmastree and please do find a way. The long term effects of doing so would help a lot of people, as there was an insurance agent in UK who divulged an info that in the coming years these types of system will be used by insurance and others to shut off your car remotely. What would be the essence of calling it your car and paying for it when in coming years they will be able to do that. If you are able to find a way to shut it off make it like a stand alone or completely remove all those nasty add one that are unnecessary save for the sake of "convenience" it would bring a time when driving was like back then -non trackable by any grid save yourself when you choose to install a removable tracking device hidden.

Yeah definitely true. Different segment for the two cars. I do agree with you though, if I was trading in an STI or Evo, this would be an upgrade. Tuning capabilities aren't there yet, but stock for stock, the GRC is much better. My opinion though!

To me if I own a business like yours, I wouldn’t have sold the Supra. In your kind of business you need more of a display/ modified cars to attack and pull more customers! C GR is cool I’m not saying it’s not but my only point was for business standpoint and I’m sure you can agree to that. Different cars pulls different market!

@@nathanmjackson1210 But right now you have a couple videos like that where you don't know how long or hard the car was driven, what maintenance was like, how much power they're running. Just saying there is more evidence that they run well vs don't. The only way to know is to look up some stats on STOCK GR Yaris mileage and their maintenance records. It's a Toyota at the end of the day, they don't fumble as hard as Chrysler or Ford.

@@SethKnows One of the ones I watched provided documents showing their oil changes were done at a Toyota dealer every 3k miles. They repair is covered by warranty, given they are covering it I would assume it was stock. It's a sports car, it's meant to be driven hard. That's what the engine should be built for. It's only a few examples, but it does emphasize my point that a 1.6 Liter engine outputting 300 horsepower will have high stress.

heheh "under wot".. "ecutek" thats so american to sound out acronyms in real speech. Perhaps the engineers at Gazoo were more focused on keeping out heavy rain and splash by creating the box the way that they did? that's usually why OEM snorkels start low and guide upward rather than come straight on.

Ugh, love AMGs. Been looking at an W213 E63S. They're so freaking fast. Fun compact, you can't go wrong with the GRC. I had a Type R before this and it is an amazing car and daily driver, but if you want more fun, but a tad less practicality, GRC is the way to go. If you want to sacrifice a little fun (but still fun nonetheless) for more practicality and a superior shifter, the Type R (FK8 or FL5).
