The fact that the question, “is Arnold the greatest?” is argued for and against in and of itself shows that it is Arnold alone that stands on top. Phenomenal calves, arms, chest and back, and their display, outshadowed mediocre legs, which at the time were not judged nor perceived from the standpoint of the massive sized legs that they are today.

I studied everything that was written about Arnold’s training style. I read his Biographies and his Unathorised biographies. It was his attitude to life that was intriguing, he had a great understanding of what it takes to succeed. Plus a great hunger and self belief that made the apparent impossible to be possible, in time. I even liked how he showed himself on stage, his routine was powerful artistic, skilful and had a kind of rithum. I used that style in my own routine when Competing for the first time in the under 21 year olds and in the Novice categories in N. Ireland. I didn’t have the mass of Arnold, but I won both categories that night. Arnold was providing a way of thinking that was giving people the help to transform themselves, in whatever they worked at, not just in sport. N.J.D

But in the end God came looking for me. I had my plan to follow in the bodybuilding world but God kept reminding me of these 2 verses in the Bible. In Mark 8: 36-38, “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? “ I normally sleep well every night, but for 3 weeks I began to wake up and fear for my soul, knowing that if I should die tonight that I would be in Hell Fire. God was gracious he pursued me , he brought me to repent and to believe in Jesus Christ. Latter I discovered why I was waking and fearing for my soul those 3 weeks, it was because my older brother had began to pray earnestly pleading with God to disturb my sleep that I might be saved. I know God is real, I’m a I witness to the reality of it. I pictured myself standing with all my trophies, but lost. Arnold said a thing once in one of the fitness magazine, that troubled me , he said “ if your not prepared to do whatever it takes to win then you’ll never be a champion “. At the time I wasn’t a Christian and being highly involved in the bodybuilding lifestyle for 6years I new what this ment. Was I prepared to take the much greater steroid use and risk it for this Earthly trophy. But God cause me to think wisely. God didn’t force me to change he just kept reminding me , to question is it worth selling yourself to make it the number one and ultimately lose my eternal soul . I new no man can serve two masters. In the end the Lord left me with no other sensible choice but, follow him . So thankful that he saved me. As much as I still have a great appreciation for the extraordinary abilities of Arnold , I hope he finished his life be submitting to Jesus Christ as his master and Lord. Everyone in the end serves one side or the other. There is no middle ground. Some ting they are neutral, but Jesus showed that this is false. “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved” There really will be a Judgment day for each one of us. Make sure your forgiven.
