I been where I'm currently at for the last 33 years. When I moved in, I did get my reloading bench assembled. But, to this day nothing has been set up. It's all underneath still in the boxes. The top has been a sort of a collections of shooting stuff, Harley stuff and what not. I mostly shoot factory loaded ammo these days. I would dread it I ever have to move my ammo hoard. It's massive. I'll stay here until my passing. That's the plan. So, John I don't envy you having to move all your equipment.

I feel for you John. I will be moving in about 6 months. The thought is overwhelming. The good news is, I know where I’m going and even have the floor plan in cad with all my bench and toolbox locations set.

@@Michael_45_AARP that’s awesome prep work. I did a loose sketch and layout but I’d say in the end it ended up about 70% of original plan once I was on the space.

I was up in my reloading area the other day, looking at all the stuff I have and thinking about what it will take to move. A lot of my supplies are in storage as my reloading area is a small area in the Pilothouse. Even so, there is way more than I really want to deal with. Still moving to a house next year and hopefully with a small shop is something I am looking forward to. Thanks for sharing. Gave me some ideas.

I can't even afford more than 1 box at a time here in Canada. I paid $150 for my last box of Berger 6.5 156gr. Woe is us. 🇨🇦 Thanks for the video! PS! I'll take the floor bullets 🤣🤣

Looks like the moral of the story is to do periodic reviews to determine what you really need for the discipline(s) you participate in and to get rid of what isn't needed.

Great video and I know you pain well of moving. Moved 14 times while on active duty with the Army. Thought after my three more moves after I left the Army I would be done but it looks like I will be moving yet again. Did you move all your HAZMAT items yourself or did the movers?

It's probably more accurate to say I switched out my Zero for the Dillon w/ Autodrive and my SAC is for certain processes.

I hope all is well, I went through this three years ago, after 15 yrs at my previous house, moved to a new house and all my super heavy stuff had to be moved. I was told that moving companies wont move firearms and bullets etc... Did your moving company move your gun related stuff? Thanks for your channel, I always look forward to seeing your videos. Are you coming to Coalinga to shoot the western state championship or the California state championship this year? I'll be at both and hope to see you there.
@FClassJohn3 ай бұрын
The moving company obviously wouldn’t move my firearms or ammunition, but they did actually end up moving all of my Berger bullets and really didn’t care. But I moved all the powder and primers myself. As for Coalinga, sadly, I won’t be able to make it because my wife is having surgery.

Moved twice in about 9 months a couple years ago (sold one house, moved into rental, then moved into current home) and moved a reloading room and workshop (wood and metal tools) basically twice. Not fun. I can sympathize. Question: why do you have the storage in the red cabinet lined with wood?
@FClassJohn3 ай бұрын
That’s actually a good catch and nobody has ever asked about that. That is actually where I store my powder and I line it because that technically meets compliance for storing powder with a 1 inch wood barrier all around it.
@hdmungeryt3 ай бұрын
@@FClassJohn Wood barrier...hmmm...wouldn't that burn if there was a fire? Just kidding, I'm sure someone smarter than me came up with that...
@FClassJohn3 ай бұрын
@@hdmungeryt Yeah it's in the residential powder storage stuff I've read. It may be exact but at least based on the code it would help more than nothing I guess.
@thetexasr.a.t.20593 ай бұрын
Yeah, the government recommends using 1" thick wooden box to store powder in, with one side that is barely attached so if the powder blows the side will let go easily. But as for containing it in a metal box that is not recommended, but then again it will help shield the wood from the fire to slow down it burning. Anyway wood is a real good heat insulator, and only the side the heat is being applied would burn. And it would take an hour or so to supposedly burn through to the other side. It would make sense to line the door with would also to block the heat from that side as well. Would not be good to lock the door though.
