Most potted poinsettias make bad cut flowers. Their stems are short and they tend to wilt very quickly. I design with a variety adapted to be a cut called winter rose. Farmers plant this variety in greenhoused ground beds. Proper care and conditions produce viable cut poinsettia stems as tall as three feet! They are great for a festive winter vase arrangement.
