“Ahoy Mr Bond”… This boat chase in FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE was originally filmed on location in Turkey but director Terence Young felt the boats were moving too slow, so the sequence was reshot in Scotland. Can you tell?

From Russia With Love is one of my favorite Bond films of all time! The film was so beautifully written and Daniela Bianchi is one of my favorite Bond girls of all. The cinematography in this scene was so good and it is one of my favorite action sequences in this film. One of the greatest Bond films ever made!

Trivia: The late Walter Gotell who played Spectre henchmen Morzeny telling Bond to give up later played General Gogol beginning with The Spy Who Loved Me and ending with The Living Daylights.
@hereitcomes39122 жыл бұрын
My fan theory is, that it could be undercover general gogol, who could be at lower rank at the time, like major or something. Bcz the russians deffinetly had to be after spectre themselves.

@Ian Robert Turner that's not sure. I mean, in general, of course it is not gogol. But in matter of a theory, it could be like that

My favorite Bond movie. As much as I love Goldfinger, I think this is still Connery's best. The aesthetics, action sequences (especially the train fight), performances (Pedro Armendáriz was such a joy to watch), characters, actual espionage focused story - everything was just executed with perfection.

There is a saying in playwriting that if a gun is shown in Act One, then someone needs to be dead by Act Two. In this case, when I saw those fuel drums in the back of Bond's boat, I knew they'd be used to start a fire.

My favorite Bond film.. Decades later, I now live in Russia, mostly because of this movie.. Yes, I know none of it was actually shot in Russia.. I suppose Tatiana made an impression on this then 8 year old lad.. and yes, I know she’s actually Italian.. Anyway, the screenwriter wrote her character perfectly.. Russian girls are still very much like that, usually.. let’s not talk about the four gas barrels, but the 12 explosions.. ;-)
