It has been 30 years since I have seen one of the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater troupes. What a PROFOUND experience. I am looking forward to seeing these BEAUTIFUL and INSPIRATIONAL dancers again. For me, the triumphant coming forth of Judith Jamison dancing to the “Wade in the Water” segment of Revelations was a revelation of truth in itself. When that glorious day rolls on look to hear the rocks of the Reynolds Auditorium in Winston-Salem cry out for glory and honor. Truly transformational storytelling as dance 💃🏾

Alvin Ailey at the WHITNEY is astounding! Go see it. I got to take a lesson from an Ailey dancer at the WHITNEY. I am 75 and they transformed me. 💜☮️

Jamison grew up in the Carroll Park area of West Philadelphia. Interestingly Wilt Chamberlain was growing up in the same neighborhood at the exact same time.
