Wonder what next campaign will be? I do actually wonder what Ashes of the Empire would be like with 4 times the unit counts... but in such a setting, it might be a good idea to have loads more fliers. Would love to see custom jet craft and more helicopters in the style of the Khorne flake or the Hauler (well, I would also love to see harpoons being abused)

Been quite a ride. Learned plenty of deficiencies that we were able to correct, and a few things we need to wait to deal with. The Scarlet Dawn HQ using dediblades ended up being somewhat of a good thing since they kept it from dropping immediately from getting damaged, though I'll be seeing what I can do to keep it from rolling constantly. We desperately need campaign spawn settings to be stricter to prevent units clipping on spawn or starting out underwater. Thanks for helping From the Depths grow, I find it safe to say I wouldn't be part of the community without you Lathrix.

In the future this day shall be marked as the day the Lathrixian Legion liberated all of Neter. This last battle shall be remembered as the fight over day and night. As the duel of the proud and honorable crew of the one Plague Guard against the conquerors of the sky. Send on a scouting mission, never expecting to return, they fought. They fought for day and night against all odds. For honor and glory they fought Never giving up, their captain gave them hope. Never giving up, the crew fought against desperation. As both forces approached each other, the conquerors had the advantage. Salvo after Salvo crashed into the hull of the lonely battleship. Screams, smoke and death permeated the air in these dark hours. But soon all saw the enemy skyship twist and turn, trying to keep itself in the air. Trying to avoid the brutal torpedoes, which ended so many lives in the past. And the killing continued. Wreckage sunk into the blood red sea. Hour after hour demanded the full attention of both crews. Shell after shell left the barrels of the board cannons of the lone battleship, before getting shot down by the support weaponry of their target. And both sides trying their best to keep on going. And on going they kept. And even after most of the main weaponry was destroyed, the Plague Guard, being one of the most meritous ships in the fleet, held up the flag of the Lathrixian Legion. And the enemy holding their ground against the barrage of the battleship. For two days the battle was fought. And finally the helm of the skyship couldn't hold the ship up whilst the failures and destruction of the machines kept on increasing. The skyship crashed into the sea and all the remaining personel could hope for was the mercy of the Lathrixian Legion... to let them not suffer. And not letting them suffer they did. Because they are the good guys. The rest is history. For their meritous service the surviving members of the Plague Guard along with their families were excepted from the military draft in the lands of the Lathrixian Legion. For all generations in the future... let this story be a lesson. About the benevolence of the Lathrixian Legion. Cause we... ...are the good guys

If you read into the lore for the Scarlet Dawn, they arrived on Neter quite a while ago, so it would make sense that their flagship isn't a glorious final boss, but is rather the last point of defence for a faction close to defeat: It's all they have left by that point. Also, if you do another campaign, I'm suggesting a run of Dangerous Waters, just to mix things up a bit.

I thought the Dawn had been pushed out of the Steel Empire territory somewhat that they took in the first invasion but wasn't anywhere close to defeat. IDK though. Been a while since I read all the lore.

The Dawn is in a stalemate.However,I think its pretty heavily implied the Scarlet Dawn are sending another invasion this time to destroy Neter. It says on the tooltip for Fox Mere that "will the whole of Neter look like this?". They might have given up on the first invasion and decided to just nuke the planet from orbit.

Ex Harbinger Autumn log#1: So this is how it ends? Thought I'd go out with a bang ,but I suppose I'm not brave enough to die. So I escaped the planet in a stealth shuttle and hoped for the best. From Neter's moon I watched the Imperial fleet begin taking formation. Then tapped into their comms. Aboard the Talon of god Unknown Officer: "Sir the ships are in position ready to purge the planet." Unknown Commander :"Are we sure this is the only option?" Unknown officer:"Sir the Inquisitor reassured me that this was indeed our only option." Unknown commander:"Very well." Unknown commander:"In fealty to the God-Emperor our undying lord and by the grace of the golden throne I declare Exterminatus on the failed Imperial colony of Neter." "I hereby sign the death warrant of an entire world consigning millions of souls to oblivion." "The Emperor protects." I then looked back at Neter to see the Imperial navy begin firing on the planet. The planet after a standard hour soon began looking barren and devoid of life. The once massive oceans now merely evaporating lakes. As fast as they arrived the Imperial fleet disappeared into the warp. I sat and watched for 3 days as the planet slowly turned into slag. After watching my grueling defeat I prepared the shuttle and plotted a course. I prepared to head to an the only area that may accept me, Tau space.

Please make an orc fleet built around cram cannons and tiny miniguns. Just make a lot of "junker" ships that are out of place. Small ships with massive cannons and massive ships that are haphazardly throw together with tons of tiny advanced cannons. Low tec and junky. The orc way! Oh. And lots of sharp pointy things.

So im not sure if you are wanting to do a custom campaign for this game, but I would love to see you do a playthrough of the Terrus Asunder campaign. Its meant to be more challenging than the Neter campaign, and it would be cool to see alot of new designs since the campaign is community made.

Lath, can you do a campaign that you have only one craft that you retro-fit and change and evolve over time? So like the Plague Guard would evolve into a bigger and better version of itself. Along with this, you could always have really small craft spawned by the mother ship, like the Testnukes. Also, what if you added the self destruct bike ammo ejecter system onto the Testnuke?

1. Great vid Lathrix, i hope you start a new campaign soon. 2. Just a little tip (a bit too late but it took me a while to remember) to make your enemies spawn at the correct height: dont engage inmediately, let the enemy fleet blockade you and once they do they will start gaining height, once is the correct height you can click on the button to start the fight, set up you forces and continue with the rest. The enemies will spawn considerably closer to you but they will be at the right height and the fight will be more fair. Not 100% sure is still like this but i suggest you try it out. Sorry for being a bit late :P

hmm. i think there might be room for cram brawlers - a faster vehicle, have it pick slowest target, and get in close so cram's slow speed is less relevant... and on a complete tangent, i need to try making a advance-cannon ramming vehicle that uses graviton ammo, just to see if i can throw a battleship right off the map. :)

Campaign idea. Your ship is a sentient mutating biomechanical entity, you start out small, in a larval state if you will. You just keep adding on and amalgamating pieces from the enemies you defeat, getting bigger and stronger over time, evolving or assimilating as you will until you consume the planet :P

Also next time you should definetly get into ashes of the empire with an orky them because lets face it looting is the essence of an ork, he will fight for loot no matter what and also the Blood God doesnt care from where the blood flows :D

Try aggroing stuck fleets with a satellite, I think sometimes they just try and match altitude on the map, so if it's a ship then they'll aim at the sea of course... I've done two runs of AoTE while you've been doing this series - there are a few wheel related frustrations still but not anything too bad; the main problem is that you might just find it too easy! maybe if the series had a *lot* of building new things. I play with local resource, minimal scrap recovery, max respawn & no capturing and resource is vaguely tight for the second faction, I tend to lose resource in battle but I make enough mining to be fine. There'll be a few new faction vehicles I think. BTW you *can* build in DW now, but I think that would probably be amazjngly unbalanced.

Well, I don't generally go near SD because I don't really enjoy fighting them - it seemed to work a few times for the odd seaborne GT ship ( even though they can get up anyway, so it's not a big deal ). C'est la vie, hopefully Nick will be back on the job before another year goes past & fixes it before I decided to try 'em again... May be worth seeing if there's a sufficiently complete CC, I get the feeling you're at the point wher you have to try hard to make the default ones a challenge. I'd be interested if you found one, certainly.

ashes of the empire replay would make for a very interesting viewing experience with all of your improvement, the new vehicles you built in the ashes of the empire sandbox mode, and the possibility of craft returning (like the khorn flake) that fit the volume limit (although that might be unlikely due to the fact you like to build all new craft for every season.)

Lathrix, for your next campain do a more sci-fi style of building. Space ships and a single MEGA sattlite that uses a single rail gun. A good start would be a ship similar to the scarlet dawns main base

Attempting to build the Egg Carrier from Sonic Adventure would be pretty cool. A HUUUUUUGE eff off laser (or particle cannon) in the front and lots of small advanced cannons, flak cannons, lasers, and missile launchers on the bottom, sides, and top. If you need references, watch the Sky Chase levels and the (I think) Final Egg levels (it's been a while since I played the game).

I would like to see a play through with Lath stuck with a specific weapon type as the only form of damage for all of his craft such as cram cannon of a small gauge or Advanced cannons limited to a max of 80mm and haveing to win the game that way so using different shells and such to achieve victory. or something similar such as all craft must be flyers or hover and never touch the ground

Just throwing this out there but, you should do a campaign like this but try and build a modern navy complete with Aircraft Carriers, Battleships, Cruisers, destroyers, attack subs, missile subs, and patrol boats. And put helipads with helicopters on the cruisers and fighters and bombers on the carriers

Play one campaign (Neter or prelude.) but building all new somewhat realistic vessels. look to twins guard for example as they portray real ships quite well.
