Two species from completely different ancestors can develop similar characteristics due to environmental pressure. This is called convergent evolution and is a relatively common phenomenon.

Oh dear... and it started with such promise, too. One of the things I look at is whether the modelling of the animals is up to date, with such things as palms of hands facing inwards rather than downwards. Also, feathers on the smaller species, or feather-like structures. So, at 1 min 26secs in, things were looking good. And then the narrator started talking about genetics and looking at DNA... and everything fell apart. To the best of my knowledge, whilst dinosaurs have been found with soft tissues preserved, and have even been able to study cellular structure from those soft tissues, no DNA have ever been recovered from a dinosaur fossil. DNA is simply too delicate to survive the fossilisation process, and, even if it did, it degrades beyond recovery after just a few million years. I believe no DNA has ever been found in a fossil specimen older than about 6 million years. I may be wrong of course, but certainly, finding DNA in dinosaurs would make headline news, no doubt about it, and that's something I'd remember! And yet, here they are, claiming to have studied dinosaur DNA to follow how dinosaurs evolved, a patent impossibility. It's a claim that borders of fraudulent, and is certainly extremely misleading. In fact, I have chosen to report this video for giving misinformation- making a claim that is patently impossible!

Well… the DNA stuff is actually true but in a backward way. Birds are dinosaurs. From studying bird DNA we can learn a bit about the beginning and end of the Mesozoic dinosaur timeline. ( We can learn what fundamentally makes them different from other archosaurs, and we can get a glimpse into the genome of one dinosaur lineage from the last days of the Cretaceous.) But yes, the script at least implies that we have studied DNA directly from Dinosaur fossils, and that is hogwash. You are correct that we have no DNA older than a few million years. It just doesn’t survive. The video aspect alone is full of terrible errors that aren’t even in the script. ( see 4:28, when he refers to hadrosaurs, and a hadrosaur is then correctly shown and labeled on screen… but under the heading “SAUROPODS”. Oh dear…. )
