They wanted war clearly after last week's incident and they got that. What did they think Israel was going to do afterwards? Sit back and do nothing? And the Palestinians and their supporters were celebrating last week. Now that Israel is retaliating and they are suffering, we must feel sorry for them? Sorry! No thank you! And Israel must show concern for the safety of Palestinians? When their Muslim religious brethren around the ME don't want to take the Palestinians in. They never have! Jordan has shut it's borders and other ME countries are reluctant to invite the Palestinians in. And western countries must support Palestine when their own religious brethren know Hamas is leading Palestine into war? They haven't had an election for 18 years though when they elected Hamas. Their choice not to have an election since then. And this apartheid claim is false. Apartheid in South Africa was like America in the 60s and before that. People of colour had very few or no rights. They were 3rd class citizens and were racially segregated. There were different areas designated for different races to live in enforced by law. That doesn't exist in Israel which is a democracy. In Palestine there is no democracy only Sharia Law. Which is discriminatory. Israel pulled out of Gaza in 2005. Hamas is running Gaza and is brutalising Palestinians there. Why do western leftists and liberals not condemn that? Hamas is calling the shots in Palestine. They are a te77orist organisation. Countries in the ME know that and want them eradicated because they cause💩 across the ME. So ME countries are supporting Israel but not openly out of fear of repercussions from Hamas and other te77orists. Jordan has been providing Israel with intelligence info on Hamas and refuses to take in Palestinians. They've shut their border with Palestine. And Egypt in North Africa which shares a border with Palestine, won't open their border and take them in. Turkey has strengthened ties with Israel as well recently. And Saudi Arabia wants to do the same. So the religious brethren of the Palestinians aren't supporting them. They profess to support them but really they don't! Why are the leftie lovies not protesting about that? Yet western countries must support Palestine when ME countries don't? Hypocrites and morons the supporters of Palestine are! They're fixated on what happened decades ago yet ignore what's going on here and now with Hamas

Was this an intentionally misleading headline? Not being familiar with this channel I had initially angrily assumed Phil Dave was endorsing the headline. Listening though it turns out, absolutely correctly, to be completely the opposite. Anyone supporting Hamas and the destruction of Israel is a disgrace.

Those protestors, the few that are doing for the right reasons, don't have a case. I am not Jewish but I am learning about the history of Palestine and am appalled at the way the British treated the Jews who were fleeing out of Europe before and during the second world war. (And of course, the Jews that had never left pre-Israel). Stopping them getting into their homeland, gradually decreasing the quotas allowed in, labelling them illegal when they were not, totally breaking the terms of the Mandate. While at the same time allowing thousands of Arabs migrants into the area, which was never the intention of the mandate. Just to appease the Arabs. After learning all this, I am ashamed to be associated with the British government of the time. Yes, the British Government caused this present day mess, but not for the reasons most people believe. It's because they gave Jewish land to the Arabs, not the other way round. The British have always appeased the Arabs.

My grandad had a friend who was stationed out there during the mandate. Twice. The first time he saw many Arabs on the streets. The second time, none. That doesn't in any way excuse the barbarity of Hamas today. Or those who tacitly support Hamas terrorism by shouting 'from the river to the sea'. But to pretend like those Arabs never existed is wrong. They did.

An excellent piece of research based on facts and historical records. I can highly recommend it. I have also read Norman Finklestein who tells his "other side of the story" who I think is a twerp.

There may be some people joining pro-Palestine marches without knowing what they're supporting, but within that march will be people who know exactly what they're doing. I would merely advise those taken in by a seemingly good cause to chat to the people they're with. We've seen that banner on display, we've seen protestors make ISIS gestures, and in Australia, we've heard protesters openly calling for Jews to be gassed, causing the Sydney government to apologise. The excuse of ignorance in joining these events has, to my mind, long expired. These are not pro-Palestinian demonstrations. These are pro-Hamas demonstrations in a thin disguise.

Jews were already emigrating back and buying up areas of the Levant under the Ottomans, and Arab settlers didn't like it. The British inherited that situation. 2: Whatever involvement the British had then, it isn't the same Brits involved in the discussion now, and the Brits involved in the discussion now weren't involved in the British Mandate for Palestine. Modern Brits had zero involvement. 3: People will have opinions. People will voice those opinions. It's a wonderful thing.

​@@edwardburroughs1489actually a polish army officer took a very high risk and made sure that he got caught and was sent into one of the camps and recorded everything that happened and after a time he managed to escape so he could tell everyone what was going on. Unfortunately no one believed him. Because they either didn't care or never thought that Germans would ever do something like that. It was only until the allies Got boots on the ground (that does include Russia). It was indeed the Russian army that first found it was true and they were furious at the atrocities.
