I like you, bought the Enterprise D when it first came out. Man that was a long time ago! I at that time painted the entire ship a light blue, then mixed a paint using the same color but darkened it. I sat at my coffee table and hand painted each panel that is on the model to make it the aztec pattern. It was easy to do, the lines are very prominent. I then painted all the windows a random pattern of black and white. I won 1st place at the Ventura County Fair that year. Oh, the early years. :)

Hey trek works. You do some great models at a pretty fast pace. The d is definitely a test lol. All the windows and mould lines that cut through the paneling is alote of hours. I've built a few of these and the only way I recommend is dons light and magic parts and mask. Jt graphics decals. The trench covers save so much time and detail. Good luck I look forward to seeing it finished

I used to grab these models myself It has been a long time since there are hardly any good ships out there I want anymore.They sell Star Wars models but they are of the fighter craft but I always love building the big ships instead

Love the War bird! You're gonna love building the Enterprise D though.I'm currently working on one in the new clear version.It's pretty much the same as the old but you must use some care with the clear plastic as it's somewhat brittle.The aztek masks from DLM are good and low tack.Also, the trench covers as well as the other photo etched parts will add some nice fine detail to the model.By the way,I've now masked the windows twice(most all of them) to prepare for the final coats of paint;-)

Make sure you get aftermarket parts like the hangerbay. I'm sure there's some resin kits for that. The question is are their any photoetch for it?

Love the Romulan Warbird. Came out AWESOME! Makes me want to go back and repaint mine. I don't readily have any ideas in regards to the Enterprise-D. I've not built one as of yet. So, I know everyone is asking this question, but I am going to ask anyway. What colors and brand of paints were used on the Warbird? Love how that one came out. 👍

What paint colors/brands did you use? And would you recommend using some kind of clear substance behind the windows? Thanks for any advice you have!

Can you provide a little more info on how you cut and finished the windows? also, did you have to cut the nacelles or just install the back lighting and mask them for painting? I love the look of the finished product!

I knwo this is years old, however, are you aware of any 1/1400 scale D'deridex?
@BaileyZK12 жыл бұрын
I got the old 3 piece adversary set with pretty much the same Romulan Warbird. However I made the mistake of building it before painting it and it's going to be a bitch to paint the inside. I seriously hope they make a larger version close to the 1/1400 to compare with the Enterprise D but that won't happen :(
