Well done. I was really impressed that Ryan opened up and shared his knowledge. Eg.: trouble shooting the auto pilot. Excellent.

Excellent idea to video the podcast! It was great to hear more of the details of how you got started. Also, great to hear Sophie's enthusiasm for keeping your channel going. To Panama ...... and beyond !!

I know nothing about sailing. But, I do know aviation - I was at the flying school with Ryan, and everything said in relation to that is very true. I very much remember my anxiety level the first time I found myself over Lake Superior in a small airplane (and the engine definitely did sound and feel different!). As I've gone through all the youtube history, it's been very clear how much the airplane captain attitude and skills have transferred to sailing and made Ryan a very good boat captain as well.

@ryan&sophie Sailing There are some great sailors that have come out of Iowa and Minnesota. David Thoreson came out of Iowa and was the photographer and crew member aboard a sailboat named Could Nine captained by a southwestern Minnesota native Roger Swanson who were the first Americans to sail in a sailboat through the NW Passage in 2007. And David has many more Sailing accomplishments.

Great interview , great to see the inperson podcast taping by Andy, and he apparently has no notes ! Yes he has done a lot but till must be how his podcasts are so easy to listen to. Dunkirk and the entire French, Belgium, Dutch coast area is tough sailing and glad to hear it acknowledged . Cheers Warren

Great to see Ryan nervous playing with tech stuf :p Ryan has to learn how to fix hairdresser..with Sophie onboard ;-) and defintely anyone wouldn'tbe caring too much of food...if there is a Sophie that can defintely cook. Tech question. Are you using external mic for recording all the time?!?!?! (the one at the beginning of the video)

Podcasts are the same as making videos, but with the equipment to plug multiple microphones in and a table to sit around. It's more work making and editing videos than it is to podcast.

Why don't you explain what kind of documents you need to own a boat you use to travel the world, any certificate of navigation you need and how do you go from one country to another about visa? Do you apply online, on arrival?

That shit is getting old, so does you grandpa, that's why you compliment a 20+ year younger woman on YT, very cringe. I bet you don't compliment your wife that way...
