It through a turbo code and I remember watching a video from a 7000 series John Deere where you showed us how to check the variable vane turbo. You were right on. Thank you for all the information and knowledge you share with us. Got him back to combining without a large bill from the Deere shop.

Warren, really appreciate your videos. I know you’ve been told this before... but it’s a 100% truth. I can tell you are a kind human being just by the way you love your dogs. That’s not saying you are a pushover or anything like that, but it’s obvious to me that your companions hold a special place in your heart. I’ve watched you share your lunches with them and lift them into the cab when they are cold... Thanks!

My farm truck has one of those 8.3's, i heard they are pretty good engines? When looking for a truck I ask a mechanic about Cat 3208's, being someone of few words he just said that "There are only two types of 3208's, ones that need rebuilding and ones that have just been rebuilt". It's interesting the things you mechanics observe during your many years of working of stuff. Maybe you should publish a good and bad book about engines, transmissions, axles, brakes, hydraulic systems and other stuff you experience.

I know squat diddley about mechanics but I sometimes wonder why designers have to squash everything into an engine bay so that it is a struggle to put a finger in when they have a machine the size of a small house where they could have an engine bay of a reasonable size and spread it out better?

There is only one substance harder than pumice and that is Diamond. Pumice is used in lava soap, and certain tooth paste products. It can be ground as fine as talc powder. Air filters are not up to the job of trapping pumice particles as fine as 5 microns.
@lloydholt65114 жыл бұрын
The old style oil bath filters did a much better job on fine particulate filtration. Unfortunately the cost and maintenance practices. people didn’t like to get dirty cleaning the oil bath filters plus maintenance costs made the paper filter more desirable.
@timmayer87234 жыл бұрын
lloyd holt oil bath air filters were what started me being a trained mechanic. That and late forties cars with more zerk fittings then I care to remember and shoe brake replacements and turning brake drums on the shop lathe. We even had a spark plug sand blaster. Chrysler products were the shop specialties. We had a growler to check generator armatures. We had a large SUN tune up machine. I dismantled dozens of one, two, and four throat carburetors, reassembled them and set them to run smooth. Learned to braze and solder. I did my first complete valve job on a 1949 Chrysler convertible flat head 6 cyl engine when I,was 16 years old. My boss was a good and patient guy.

@@sixteenstone007 Warren said it's a long drive out to the machine. So ten hours drive and disassemble, another ten to repair and another ten to reassemble. Plus parts and supplies. Think Warren's rate is 100/ HR. It's a bargain, compared to buying a new one.
