Yeah for sure. Allowing for that kind of justice has in the past been known to prevent the burning down of a whole city on a frontier more than once throughout history. Much more efficient than hoping going back and forth to Gilead will be good enough to solve all problems some day.

I read the comments before watching... OK. As a former FA (retired one year ago - whew) ... FA's have few options available in such a confined, tiny, narrow environment to deal with someone who is out of control. There is only so much 'reasoning' one can do to deescalate a situation... I would love to have had duct tape available. Oh ... and to be fair ... sober folks are just as capable of behaving badly!

My wife is a 52 year old Flight Attendant. With in 1 month she had a man accuse her of sexually molesting him because he didn't like being informed of mask requirements. He was removed from the plane for non compliance and the airline required her to attend an investigation of her on her vacation. The airline does not like senior higher paid FA's and would like to fire them. The second incident involved a male and a female with with a baby. They were informed to be seated with masks on so that the aircraft could push from the gate. Obscenities from the two were loud and copious with non compliance. A gate agent supervisor came onboard to have them removed and the female tried to punch my wife while holding her baby like a human shield. They were removed and on the way out more loud obscenities and the male said he was going to have her killed. We are now waiting to hear when the next employee investigation is to be. The behavior on airplanes these days can be best described as an over the top loud attitude of you can't tell me what to do. It has become a rare day when there isn't some kind abuse from passengers.

He literally dehumanized those flight attendants when he assaulted them numerous ways, numerous times, and EVERYONE around him by saying his parents and grandparents are worth more than other people's lives. I think taping him to his chair was actually pretty humane in comparison. Apologizing on Twitter would have been the way to go rather than trying to play the victim.

@@jcaprio9813 RN here as well, one with over a decade in Psych, and for us, yes we would be held responsible but not airline staff. They are up in the air with no way to get support. They can't call a code they have to make due with the limited resources they have. Reckless behavior like his was endangering everyone. The staff could have thought the drink would calm him down as they are not medically trained so that wouldn't hold water in a court of law. Essentially he is an entitled idiot who didn't care about molesting women and physically assaulting a male flight attendant who merely tried to redirect him. This isn't the unit and they did what they had to do for everyone else's safety. As a nurse if a patient with a history of assaulting staff and other patients made a move towards harming someone we as nurses would be calling for help and preventing him from causing harm stopping him at all costs. But please enlighten me how this limited airline staff could have prevented him from harming others 30,000 feet in the sky. Honestly he got off easy compared to other similar situations I have read about on airplanes. Thankfully he was promptly arrested and is facing multiple charges. Let this be a learning moment for him, it may save someone's life.

The recording of the video got him paid by the airline. The Doctor is absolutely right young people on alcohol is a bad mix especially on a plane. Now he’s got some money but the video is a life sentence which isn’t fair, it’s truly no different than a life sentence for acting a fool drunk in public and jaywalking. The problem was the moment they put the tape over his mouth listening to passengers and not telling other passengers to sit down and behave as well, the continued laughing and berating by the passengers was childish and wrong as well. Good analyst Dr. Grande!

@@Catlady-mw4en I think it's more related to the general problem in which the act of covering someone's mouth is usually depicted as a rather lighthearted affair in eg. Any time you drink to excess, you sign a contract with yourself to accept the consequences of what you do and say while intoxicated. These days, everything is filmed and published so it's almost as though the contract has been amended to include your understanding of the possibility that your actions can - and possibly will - haunt you for the rest of your life. The best course would then be to apologize sincerely, and to commit to better choices.

When I get drunk every time I get giggly, joke more, laugh more, feel more comfortable in social situations. Coming back from Vegas last month I had eaten the last of my THC edibles the night before and was fairly stoned throughout the flight. Having to spend hours sitting still sucks, and being able to medicate and deal with it makes the whole trip much more pleasant. Intoxication loosens inhibitions, I believe it makes us act more the person we are in the inside while not held back by the mental blocks we put on our behavior.

Problem is the "mean drunk" - while some people just become a little less self conscious and a little more giggly, others become an absolute menace by losing their razor-thin veneer of self control. I actually have personal insight on this story! Berry is from my hometown. His family is a prominent family in the area. They owned a well-known restaurant. His family is wealthy, but many of them are involved in lawsuits amongst the family, due to the restaurant. It's name was Berry's. I do not know maxwell Berry, as he is much younger than I am. However, I do know other members of his family. My comment upon hearing this story was that no one from Norwalk are surprised that he's a member of the Berry family. They are well-known, but almost universally unliked, because they tend to behave much like maxwell did.

Or pilots being distracted by an out of control passenger and missing an advisory from ATC resulting in a mid-air? Not every aircraft in the air is a passenger liner ... there are all manner of different planes and pilots' skill levels.
