@@brillsmith2207 I did not say he is a genius. I said what I said. One point he got exactly right from my perspective as an Information Systems guy is that the H-1B visa is nothing more than a cheap labor tool along with illegal immigration. Less than a month after the authorization of an additional 85,000 H-1B visas, 400 American citizens and veterans in the UBER program and system engineering staff are losing their jobs at the same time UBER requested 299 new visas to add to the visa folks already there. That's 400 more Americans workers and their families betrayed. Put out of a job by a government cheap labor program they will now be fined 10% on their retirement fund withdrawals as they struggle to find other employment. You can see more on this issue from recent WaPo and Mercury News articles. A grand swap of these visas for a "Pathway to Citizenship" is what is meant by "comprehensive immigration reform", what SB.744 did, and would be an extinction event for American citizens in Technology .I am grateful to Mr. Bannon for speaking the truth on this issue.

Bannon supports the most corrupt and anti-democratic candidates in the US and in the West. He simply rationalizes his support by claiming that "the people" support them. He is on record saying that Trump does not lie. That makes Bannon a LIAR not a "messenger of the truth." I think Bannon does love this country and he has correctly identified some real problems. But he's making two mistakes: First, believing Trump was the guy to carry his vision out. Trump is a tactical ally but not a strategic one; he's going to do whatever he thinks keeps him in power, and that typically means keeping money happy. Bannon's out of the White House because Trump does not want or care to feel like a constrained adherent to any ideological program. He just doesn't care about that. Also, Trump's use of xenophobia is in direct conflict with Bannon's goals. That stuff has historically never gone hand in hand with prosperity, absent warfare. Second, Bannon's vision for America itself has serious difficulties, and they're born of his experience on Wall Street, seeing the absolute ugliest side of expansionist economics. That stuff is ugly and it is unfair. But we're not going to be able to "reclaim" this country and retarget our economy in the way he would want to without very serious pain for the people he thinks he's trying to help. It's difficult enough from the left and downright impossible from the right. Closing off, the way Italy and Hungary have begun to do, means the pie really does shrink and the game becomes closer to zero-sum. They're going to feel it in those nations, and the opportunity costs for everyone there will be huge. Meanwhile, China will be going to Africa; shoring up its influence in Asia, partnering where possible with Russia. Bannon sees this but doesn't seem to follow its implication: isolationists will get smaller and weaker. Iron laws of economics. A conservative economist in San Diego did a study about 15 years ago on the difference between cities in the US vs. cities right across the border in Mexico. The big difference explaining their outcomes was: availability of credit. That was the foundational factor from which all the differences in economic outcome flowed. You get abundant credit from expansionism. Don't want expansionism, you don't want prosperity for *anyone.* Warren's over the top, but she's at least pointing her guns in the right direction: intervene to incentivize spreading around of that capital accumulation. I don't know where Bannon thinks he's pointing his. It doesn't hang together, and he won't just spit it out.
@chuckcribbs3398
@chuckcribbs3398 4 жыл бұрын
TheBiomuse As soon as you mentioned Warren I tuned this out. Trump has done more for our country in three years, with his hands tied, than any other president. Funny how we became a world power without having to sell to China. We don’t need China. If we take our manufacturing out they collapse.
@TheBiomuse
@TheBiomuse 4 жыл бұрын
@@chuckcribbs3398 Wow you sure missed my point, which wasn't to advocate for Warren. Don't let yourself get triggered by magic words. My point is that Bannon's ideas aren't that different from hers. They both want to tax high incomes (which Bannon proposed for incomes over $5M - lower than Warren's number - but couldn't get Trump to sign onto) because they both want to see more economic benefits going to the working class. In fact they *both* appear to want that more than Trump does. Trump lied to Bannon about his goals. When Bannon pushed on him, he got trashed ("I fired Sloppy Steve"). That's because Bannon actually believes what he's saying, while Trump doesn't actually give a crap. And somehow Bannon still clings to hope, and tries to stay relevant by sucking up to him. That's a pattern with Trump. It should tell you something. Funny how we didn't need consumer electronics, like we're using right now, to become a world power either. So what? Times have changed, and so has China. No one sees a quick resolution to Trump's trade war because there isn't one coming. Bannon's wrong when he trashes Democrats on this: the whole point of Obama's TPP was to have bargaining power over China, which would have made everything that Trump's now trying to do easier. But he flushed it, because he's weirdly obsessed with Obama. I read about the Dem debate last night and half of what they talked about was China. In other words, it's not a Trump position that China's a problem: it is and has been an American position. Doesn't seem to me that Trump's going about it in the strongest way, just in the most theatrical way. Against somebody like Xi, that's backwards.

Just a quick reminder of *HOW MUCH* the US industrial output has shrunk over the last decades: industry is now only 12% of the US gdp...let that sink in. You don't know what you're talking about. Your comment is just populist talking point. A good industrial output does NOT guarantee a big healthy middle class. The largest middle class in world history was the result of FDR's NEW DEAL policies which protected LABOR UNIONS -- and labor is labor, not limited to industrial jobs. Germany and Scandinavian countries now do what the US used to do in terms of protecting labor rights. Are those countries great manufacturing centers? No.

I grew up in a blue collar working class neighborhood. It was all about family and community. Neighborhoods lost out when jobs left. I understand where Steve is coming from. Jobs were easy to find without leaving the community. My own father worked 30 feet from where we lived. We had a business on every corner and a corner bar where men and women could unwind after a hard day at work. It was a great way to grow up. We felt safe. Neighbors all knew one another. This is what we lost. Without blue collar jobs, boys never grow into manhood.

In Nature, some hiking, sitting around fire, but also storytelling, mythology, solo time. The modern western world is unrooted and disconnected from our core spirituality. Add to that boy/man hating/ dissing feminism which pervades every Urban institution (schools, media, advertising...) and you have a recipe for Suicides, unhinged boys and women who cant find a man.

I realize that many in the political sphere imagine “nationalist/ism” is a dirty word, but they seem to be ignorant of the dichotomy of nationalism Vs Globalism. How the globalists are winning by the day. The bipartisan project of selling out to the corporate over lords. Name any issue in politics and I can bet that somewhere near the core of that issue is a corporate mindset that genuflects to the global power structure by default.

The financial classes did not want inflation in the economy because it would cheapen their debt holdings. To achieve zero inflation they gutted t he unions, they moved production overseas and they got banking regulation weakened to zero, and they control the central bank. The middle class's political power was vastly diminished. Now the financial groups have an oligarchy over the nation, they control both major parities and they write the laws to benefit their class. @D P The media has many heads, many “left” media outlets smear Bernie in favor of corporatist Dems, many “right” wing media outlets smear Bannon in defense of corporatism and the status quo. @Denise You hit the nail on the head. Low minded partisan morons play make believe that the problem is simply the other political party, Bannon accurately points out how the republicans are actualky worse than Dems on many issues, a main one being the sort of corporatism of the political right which proactively works not just against republican voters but the workers of America at large. I think Bannon does see the myriad ways which the system, if left unchecked, will blow up in the face of the elites. In a similar way that the far lefts anti-white bigotry fuels the white identiatians and helps justify their activism and gain supporters. The day may come that the American workers notice that the leaders of this country are playing a different game than ours, they are the hand the skims the cream off the top while we fight for what’s left over. That day by day the political class in tandem with the donor class are reshaping the world to work solely on their behalf. Long comment short, this could very well reach a fever pitch where common people pick up arms and revolt against the types who hold the gates open and keep America as being the #1 country that takes in more legal immigrants than any other, even though the majority of Americans are against mass immigration on this scale. The people who’s job it is to work directly against the American Dream, because they can make a buck. Bannon is definitely on to something, and that something is beyond parochial partisan idiocy.

Though I am a left liberal, I wholeheartedly agree with the dismantling of the donor system and carrying out the wishes of the majority of the country, especially the working and middle class. I think he has clearly stated the difference between the threat from China and the threat from Russia, and how we should be much more concerned about China. But, then, he is arrested on board a Chinese billionaire‘s yacht for engaging in a scam to make money off of a fake wall along the border. It’s so frustrating. @@tdtvegas It won't happen. Discussion and compromise mean nothing to the loudest of detractors. Fear of social isolation prevents most from even considering admitting they agree with a point of view of the "other team." Even getting so far as to consider watching a video like this is impossible. The mainstream media and Hollywood elites (including SNL, The View, etc...) paint Bannon as literally The Grim Reaper. Actually, not just The Grim Reaper, The "Racist, Homophobic, Islamophobic, Transphobic, Sexist" Grim Reaper." Unfortunately, labels like that work since most casual "The View" or ABC News viewers care enough to do their own basic research. It's been said before, but before anyone's agenda/policies can be tested, the old guard mainstream media has to finally collapse. Days of reporting unbiased, properly sourced news have decended into opinion/agenda entertainment. When they mask their agenda and bias as actual news, it proves their own label as the enemy of the American people. Their downfall is happening slowly; more and more these publications have to put up paywalls just to barely survive.

Absolutely the best and most informative interview I have heard on the subject of defining where we are and the direction we face as a country.

Bannon makes clear and defined points. He speaks very effectively and intelligently. GREAT interview! My hats off to Front Line. Bannon seems like a true Patriot, and I believe America is lucky to have him.

I been voting democrat for a long time .. and I can tell you this is a great interview! Unfortunately the party have gone to the extreme within the past 6 years .. but the past 3 years they have gone to the real crazy extreme to the point that even the hard core democrats are flipping their votes and I think the next elections will show!
