I’ve been strength training since I was 40 I was diagnosed with osteopenia from my Graves’ disease when I was 30 and I’m still osteopenia in my 40s mid 40s and die it’s important to but I am still doing wall push-ups. It is so hard for me to do push-ups unless I’m on my knees on the floor.!!! They are so difficult because my arms are tiny. Only weigh 112 I got a little tiny stick Barbie arms.!!! Ugh

I AM a yoga teacher who got injured. Just as I was beginning to improve, the pandemic shut everything down (I'm in NYC). I was ok for awhile, doing walking and exercises at home but then had a set back. I don’t have osteoporosis but I am 72 and living with osteoarthritis and spinal stenosis. I do movements from Donna Eden's Energy Method and was in PT but have to conserve my sessions. Even though I am aware of these exercises I was so happy to find them here because they have given me a new incentive to do these again. I am determined to get strong again. Very grateful for your information.💕

VITAMIN K2!!! at least 100-300mcgs/day. It pulls calcium out of the bloodstream and takes it to the bone where it needs to be. You can take it in pill form or buy natto which is fermented soybeans. I take 2 teaspoons of it a day along with my 100mcgs pill. Magnesium - make sure you take it separate from calcium - 2 hours before or after you take calcium. Of course don't forget vitamin D3 and Calcium Make sure you have the amount of protein required for your size. Stay away from caffeine or use much less.

My physio therapist also gave me three of these exercises to do after I broke my arm. I'm a "border case" for osteoporosis. He told me musle exercises are good but for your body to produce calsium you have to do impact exercises too, walking, jogging etc, but walking is better, not too much impact on knees, back and ankles. As I'm not English I hope you understand 😊

My diagnosis of osteoporosis of the spine and osteopenia of the hip a year ago at 65 was a huge shock to me because I have been practicing yoga for over a decade, have done weight bearing for several years, take vitamin supplements, no smoking, little alcohol etc. My common sense told me it all wasnt enough, so I have been on medication for one year (absolutely No side effects). I do specific Yoga poses for osteoporosis now and specific weight bearing exercises for osteoporosis. I am due for a dexa scan soon and am hoping my Score will have improved and that maybe I can come off the bisphosphonate. I enjoy your channel!

@Livetoeat171 Жыл бұрын
@@elainepeltier2015 This is my opinion only that this is my experience. My sister and my neighbor took a pill, one for a week and the other for one month and both of them ended up with pain in the back so badly that my neighbor ended up in the hospital with nothing for them to do except give her pain pills...there's no antidote for the bisphosphonate. And they all have big black box warning on them with many side effects. All of them say that, after a couple of years, the doctor wants you to take a break and during that break time, they say in the precautions sheet, "may cause femur break". Well, I would never even take a chance on that! Besides that they all have a warning that may cause jaw necrosis, Which is the dying of the jaw bone and sometimes you have to have surgery to remove your jaw! And no dental work while taking those meds. I told my Doctor No way was I ever taking those. I started eating well, exercising, walking, every day. But dont let me influence you...go online and look up the side effect list for each of the bisphosphonates and read it yourself. Good luck.

I’m never hungry. 4 eggs (25 g protein) 4 bacon slices (14 g protein) 1 lb meat 88/12 (77 g protein) Note: 1 pound of ribeye is 120 g of protein by itself but I can’t afford that every day so I buy ground beef at Costco. And if you can’t eat a 1 pound bowl of meat, eat half a lb with a couple of eggs on top. I am a generally very healthy 83 year old female. After a bone density test, I was diagnosed with osteoporosis. I have an appointment with an endocrinologist in February. In the meantime, after much research I have chosen your 4 exercise and Cal Mag plus K2 liquid vitamins. My question is do you have specific e recuses for an ankle which is definitely weaker, other than doing more repetitions? I feel very lucky to have found your site. I will do everything not to take medication.
