Frost Mage is INSANELY BURSTY in The War Within

I find because Ice Lance procs shards I get Glacial Spike more often. Maybe that was the balance, letting us proc shards to Glacial Spike in rotation more often, but nerf the overall damage of the spell just a little. I have been doing Dragonflight catch up on my mage after the pre-patch and I really noticed the increased amount of procs I am getting, and I love the procing Time Warp and Water Elemental showing up regularly. It really makes me feel my water elemental is back and around more often.

Chaos bolts are easier to land, cast or spam unlike Gs, hence the reason they reduced the output since bfa. Destro lock damage has shifted a bit to their fire school since it was one of their design issue, everything being a wet noodle filler for shards

Have you thought about having the addon which shows the abilities you press on the corner maybe? It would be nice to follow along, many people are shopping for new specs and not really familiar with the rotation.

The Hekili addon is just the best for learning a new class. Literally shows you which buttons/ spells to press in the correct order. Not 100% perfect but its a great starting point.

I liked fire mage the most always and its my main but i play all specs but if it stays like that i might even consider maining frost (I like all mage specs almost equally fire is just my favourite usually as i like the theme and how smooth it is to play with all them instant casts and 50% combustion uptime)

Dude, putting your abilities right below your character is like the smartest thing I’ve seen. Negates the need for weak auras tracking your abilities

I might actually main mage for the first time in 16 years. I’ve never liked fire but Frost feels so good and arcane now feels awesome which gives me two specs I like. Odds that neither is better than fire in any content are minimal.

You should try the classes in keys 10 and up, so you will know which class is good, any class can make low mythics.

With the proc munching, I’d like it if they toned down the number of fingers of frost you get and shortened the duration of winter’s chill but buffed the damage of ice lance when consuming those buffs - would reward more precise play, lead to less GCD bloat since you have some other cool spells to use your globals on.

Frost has never been great in raiding at least when GS has been the Meta - even in 2 target cleave fights, the big, long, slow, lumbering chaos bolt that is glacial spike is really punishing when you are trying to do mechanics and you lose a lot of dmg, people usually just go fire for unlimited mobility in execute. Hoping that playing without GS will at least be viable, and that GS is okay for the people (though certainly not me) who enjoy playing destro frost mage.
