God bless this horse, he came back stronger from dubai. And Joel Rosario knows him very well too. I think of he could be running in the breeders cup classic this year if God Willings.

I finally figured out who Frosted reminds me of a little, and by saying this I'm truly not in any way trying or meaning to compare the two horses, but he does remind me some of Quality Road in the sense that at a mile or 9f both horses had/have a pretty lethal turn of foot, but at 10f both horses were/are vulnerable to defeat. I'm not entirely certain if Frosted's optimum trip is a mile or 9f, but I always thought 9f was Quality Road's best trip. Because he was so good at 9f is why I always understood his connections opting for the BC Classic in 2010 and meaning to in 2009, instead of the BC Dirt Mile, and I think it's why we'll likely see Frosted's connections opt for the BC Classic over the BC Dirt Mile for the same reason. The problem in opting for the Classic when a mile or 9f is your optimum trip, or at least in Quality Road's case, was that he finished dead last of 12 in the 2010 BC Classic at Churchill Downs on conventional dirt, and even if they'd gotten home loaded for the Classic in 2009 at Santa Anita, I really don't think he would've fared a whole lot better there either taking on that particular field over 10f on the pro-ride surface. That being said, I think Quality Road back then and/or Frosted now would dominate in the BC Dirt Mile, and in the case of Quality Road, if you look back at the time he put up on the board over 6-1/2f at Saratoga in the Amsterdam Stakes, he might've been an equally big threat back then in the BC Sprint as well, IMO.

I think you're spot on in your entire assessment. I wish I would have listened to your assessment of Animal Kingdom in the Queen Ann as I had Declaration of War and the next two finishers, but not a dime on any of them. Most of the time it's better to go with your own judgment IMO, providing you feel your expertise is at least equal to other opinions being given. In this case on an undulated straight European Turf course it wasn't. My fault. I just finished looking at Frosted's races at 10 furlongs and when running against true grade1 horses he does badly. Quality Road was a magnificent horse, but burned so much energy before the start of the race he bottomed out at 9f, unlike Blame who doesn't get the credit for being such a good 10f horse as he should. I couldn't believe when Blame ran him down at the Spa at 9f by the slimmest of margins, but still, he did. After looking at Frosted's 10f races I'm going to toss him for the BCC because the race is to strong for him to hit the board. CC is a strong 5yo and Arrogate is no one race wonder as his other races attest to. The Travers for myself was the proof. Sadly I hooked him with losers and didn't put a dime on him to win. In the BCC so far it looks like Arrogate, CC, Melatonin, for the top spots. These will most likely be the favorites so I'll have to throw a dart to hit the triple.

California Chrome raced impressively today in Del Mar, a wire to wire winner over Beholder and others. Looking at the times I'd have to give the nod to Frosted. He was faster and times are usually faster out West. Can Frosted last the last 1/8 of a mile in the Classic distance though? Can he handle Santa Anita? What about a fast closing Exaggerator? I hope all 3 are entered and healthy. It should be a real classic.

Will say this...unlike the uneducated trolls on TVG, I am a big FROSTED fan. If Joel wanted to? He could have won by a pole. We all saw that. But! And I mean BUT! And I bring up a valid argument. FROSTED under 9f is fantastic. But he is 0-5 with three off the board finishes beyond 9f. Facts are facts. It is what it is. Let's be honest. If they decide to go in The Classic? CALIFORNIA CHROME has a huge advantage over FROSTED in many aspects. FROSTED is up against it

The prep he won in Dubai was 9 1/2 furlongs, so he has won over 9. Not to mention four of those five losses were to American Pharoah and the other was the Dubai World Cup against Chrome. I agree Chrome has his measure in the Classic, but he has lost to two quality superstars in all five of those losses.

@alexaportis73877 жыл бұрын
oo ee 😒 AP isn't really a legend to me, ya he won the triple crown okay, but MANY horses make him look like garbage, such as Secretariat(definitely), Seattle Slew, Ruffian, Zenyatta, Man O War, Seabiscuit, Kelso, Spectacular Bid, need I go on? Ap isn't the best by FAR. but I respect your opinion

Looks like Frosted has reached "super horse" status along with California Chrome, and Beholder, I thought he would regress after his huge effort in the Met Mile.
@frostedicepharoah77238 жыл бұрын
Frosted is very close to even with California Chrome. I do think Frosted will beat Chrome in the BC Classic. Frosted is way way way better than Beholder. Beholder is not a super horse.

Let us not get ahead of ourselves here. I think FROSTED has alot to prove beyond 9f. I was a big FROSTED fan but time & time again he kept disappointing beyond 9f. He is fantastic at 9f and under and today Rosario probably could have won by a pole if he wanted to, but I am not convinced because FROSTED is 0-5 beyond the 9f distance. Facts are facts. I think if he were to be entered in the Dirt Mile he would destroy the field.

+Christopher Browne I know. I have always felt FROSTED was a tad short beyond 9f. For me? Before last years classic he was working super for the classic. I thought for sure he was finally going to win at 10f, and he wanted no part of the race. As I said, I am a FROSTED fan but when u are 0-5 beyond the 9f, it is hard for me to get onboard at 10f.
@johnkaufmann88758 жыл бұрын
+Christopher Browne He ran a blazing 1:09:3 for 6f and Rosario didn't have to move a muscle. Wow! I was expecting a more difficult race and FROSTED toyed with this field. Was very surprised that COMFORT was sitting last the first 6f. Thought he would be part of the pace.
