Get a bunch of girls fresh out of high school to run your business, your business will be run like a high school. They need older, more experienced staff. Lauren was undermining Beth and the other girls would follow Lauren cuz she was "cool" and didn't call them out on their laziness.

I worked at an ice cream store after high school and I was one of the only staff that actually worked and didn't slack off which meant the other girls hated me and thought I was a snitch because I would tell the boss that they weren't cleaning up, socialising and were stealing food. I would literally come in to open the store in the morning and have to spend an extra 30mins (at least) cleaning it before I could serve customers because they hadn't cleaned or restocked anything. I would want Beth to manage me. I have never worked in a coffee shop or anything, I’ve always worked in the finance industry but Beth has amazing managerial skills and she reminds me a lot of my current manager. I have no idea why people are so offended when they’re called out for blatantly not doing their job. You’re there to get paid, yes but you’re also there to uphold a standard and the reputation of the business you work for and Beth seems to be the only one who cares about that aspect.
