This was honestly weirdly wholesome for a Lumpy horror vid. Like, Barney came to talk to Fred, as his friend and tried to give him a shot at redemption, to admit what he did and acknowledge his sins. Fred just couldn't bear it, and neither could Barney. Barney wanted to at least try to help Fred, but he just can't until Fred takes those basic steps forward. Unfortunately, Fred can't accept the horror of what he did and is stuck in eternal denial, only able to obsess over Fruity Pebbles as his way of coping. It's equal parts wholesome, tragic, and horrific. And shitpost.

I think the music at 2:00 helps with that interpretation. It gives me a vibe of “this is not the end of Fred _or_ Barney’s story” - that despite the horrors Fred’s perpetuated and the cycle of denial he seems to have trapped himself in, there’s still a faint glimmer of hope that he’ll be able to recognize what he’s done and someday be able to come to terms with it. …or the music is just meant to sell the line “If you can’t acknowledge your sins, Fred… stay here in the hell you’ve created for yourself.” It’s a good choice either way.

I love how Every Lumpy Monster has more depth than "Oooh I'm Monster, scary, scary" Fred is in Denial of his Massacre and Constantly Devolves into a More Monsterus Devil as he refuses to see who he is and looks past his Savage Nature as a Monster because of his Will to Live as a Normal Member of Society. Gorefield is Lonely and Can't Accept a Flawed world where he is Treated like a Monster and is Either Stripped away from his Jon or Discarded and Feared by Him, so he tries to Envelop the World in order to create his Paradise where he is Loved and Cared for by Everyone. Sonic is Obsessed with speed because that's What he Was Raised to be but when he Doesn't live up to the expectations of others he Pushes himself beyond and tries to Force the Idea that he is the Fastest because that is what he was created to be and he cannot live without the Validation of living up to Society's Expectations so he hurts himself by Undergoing Several Surgeries and Modifications just so his Purpose of Existence is Validated. But for there to be so many chains made for the purpose of holding a giant like Fred... doesn't suggest good things on the horizon. Others believe that the Flintstones live at the same time as the Jetsons and merely live on the ground, while the Jetsons live in the skies. The Crossover disproves it, unless you believe that Elroy made a teleporter, while he was thinking he was making a time machine. Then it was the Jetsons who made the chains. But that has the possibility that the Jetsons might be responsible for Fred's change. but that raises the question of why? Why would the Jetsons (or anyone from their society) go out of their way to change Fred? Amusement because they were bored? Cogswell and/or Spacely testing out a new invention? My theory💭: Fred was so encased in his “love” (Addiction) for fruity pebbles the larger he became (the larger his addiction grew) he became so enlarged in his F.P. Addiction that it consumed him to where he was engorged in his own fantasies (delusions) to where he began eating everyone in bedrock including baby girl pebbles (hence her name). And so now trapped in his own delusions from his sinful ways and addiction he now can’t or won’t escape from it and admit fault even when his best friend Barney tries to break him out of it and confront his demons. That can also give meaning to the deep message Barney told him: “Stay here in the hell you created for yourself…”

Yes Barney and the Remaining Survivors finally sealed Fred but Fred himself is unable to look past his sins and can Never accept reality, the Good ending in my opinion should be where Fred finally accepts the Monster he's become and commits to atoning for his sins, hunting down Monsters of the Stone Age.

The horrid part is that fred is a monster, it's that he tries to think he's still himself, eventhough he knows what he's done

Judging by how fred seems cheerful and friendly, how he can't remember things from just one moment ago, and how he clearly isn't just a normal insane killler (i mean he's a giant distorted monster that towers over barney) i like to think that something infected or changed him and he didn't have a choice in his actions. Now his mind is broken by mutation and grief, shielding itself with denial.
