Another excellent video. Flight simmers have a lot to be thankful for right now with the platform, but the insight from this 320 series is epic. Thanks so much BB for the time you invest in these.

Your tutorials are the clearest I'm glad that I found your channel thanks to you now I can understand more on what's going on when I'm flying on the simulator. Can you make a tutorial about the electrical system please It's a little difficult to understand the electrical systems for me I'll really appreciate!!

Was wondering though. As you commence the take off roll. Why is the pressure difference negative? Pressure in the cabin is higher than outside, so I would think it is positive no?
@Blackbox711
@Blackbox711 7 жыл бұрын
+Thomas Franckaert .. good catch there! I falsely said during the takeoff roll the differential pressure would get negative. That is incorrect. It goes to +0.1 PSI. I will change that in the video. Regards

Blackbox711 I don't want to bother you to much, but I am just trying to grasp the system. To avoid pressure surges the pressure starts to increase during take off roll...so the pressure altitude is now lower than the airport pressure (shown in the drawing). But isn't it just creating a bigger pressure difference cause the pressure altitude is lowe then the airfield. The difference between the red line an de the green line is bigger then the blue line and the green one. I hope you understand what I am trying to say... ..Thanks. regards

Fascinating video - I always learn something new and really enjoy your style of teaching. Thanks so much for taking the time to share your knowledge! I do have a small question - you mention pressure surges on take off and landing, what would cause these and how does a negative pressure in the cabin mitigate this ?
@Blackbox711
@Blackbox711 7 жыл бұрын
+Konrad Strachan .. Thank you very much for the kind words. Pressure surges or 'bumps' happen because air behaves a little like water. So during takeoff/liftoff the air will move backwards causing higher pressure in the back and lower pressure in the front. The pressure controller then has difficulty measuring and regulating the cabin pressure and that can cause even more pressure surges in the cabin. Regards

Another masterpiece by Blackbox - looking forward to the sequel! Just one question: doesn't the APU bleed need to be precooled? Or is it automatically at a lower temperature than the bleed air from the engines?
@Blackbox711
@Blackbox711 7 жыл бұрын
+Thomas Hjortgaard Danielsen .. The APU has a single stage Compressor, so Bleed temperature is lower and does not need to be precooled.

When you talk about Cabin altitude, do you confirm that it is in link with ISA standards? For example, if it pressurisés the cabin at the same pressure as LDG ARPT ELEV -250ft, to figure out pressure at that altitude, it does not use real static pressure but simply ISA standards no? Thanks!
@ayushroy2347
@ayushroy2347 7 жыл бұрын
Let me make it more clear: if cabin altitude is at 300ft (which means that pressure in the cabin is equal to the pressure at 300ft, If I understood it well). However pressure at 300ft is different everyday in real life: it depends of the weather, the place...etc. So how does it figure out pressure the exact pressure value at 300ft? It uses ISA standards to figure it out, right? Does it apply ISA standards from MSL (1013hPa/15degC ; which would mean that it knows that pressure at MSL is 1013hPa and that we lose 1hPa every 28ft. It is then easy to figure out pressure at 300ft in ISA standards) or does it apply ISA standards in link with current weather/pressure (The plane knows - ADRs - the static pressure outside. So does it then say that we gain approx. 1hPa every 28ft so it then figures out pressure at 300ft)? In the first case, cabin pressure at 300ft will always be the same in any plane. In the second case, pressure at 300ft will change everyday as our reference on which we apply ISA standards is not the same everyday. Hope my question is clear :) Thanks!

+Ayush Roy .. I did not expect anyone to really want to know this. But I was wrong 😉. OK, so here is the answer: The Pressure Controller normally uses the landing elevation and the QNH entered in the FMGC. That is why you need to fill out at least the QNH field in the Landing Performance Page. The pressure altitude is derived from the ADIRS. If the FMGC data is not available, the Pressure Controller uses the Captain Baro Reference from the ADIRS and the LDG ELEV selection. I hope that cleared things up!?

Enjoyed your live stream from monday, just as many others, it was very informative covering the temp and airco systems. I do have a question though regarding the one engine out simulation you performed, wich strangly enough nobody asked. After the bird strike in engine #1 the wing anti ice became inop. If this happens in winter ( or in the North like Canada/Scandinavia) with ice and snow conditions present, does this mean that only one engine out could end the flight quite unpleasantly? And, me being a xplane changée..., here is a link of the best, free, airport sceneries currently available. (Maybe an idea to do a madeira flight in the Ixeg...?) flyingxplane.apps-1and1.net/tourist/ Thank youfor all the effort and interesting teaching you put in the sim hobby! ( especially when you get stressed doing the Cat-tests 😅, Cool to see you than fall back to your basic flying traing/procedures!)
@Blackbox711
@Blackbox711 7 жыл бұрын
+Wild Rover .. Thank you very much for the kind words! First of all there is a way to get wing anti ice to work on the failed side by opening the crossbleed valve and switching off one pack to make sure enough bleed air is available for wing-anti-ice. This should only be done when absolutely necessary, since it could contaminate the other bleed system with smoke or poisonous fumes. Secondly, thank you very much for the link! Happy Landings

+"Brain Explosion" .. I understand your criticism. However we have a nicely functioning FSLabs A320 in V3. At least I am enjoying it very much. I would rather wait a little longer to get a proper working airplane in V4. And maybe have the A319 coming out at or around the same time.
